Will be on around 7600 miles when I get back home. Next service is ten thousand. What mileage do you think I'm allowed to go over that approx ? I have a Spain trip coming up and would probably go over that unless they let me service it before.

Cheers Doc

They will let you service early. Or are you on some service plan? JJH
No not on a plan but need to keep it right for warranty.

I can’t see how an early service would adversely affect your warranty. Stranger things have happened. JJH

When was the last service
What is done at 10k

Armed with above you can decide, shirley a freshly serviced bike is better for a 2-3000 mile holiday , than one overdue?

Can't remember maybe five thousand and no idea on ten thousand. I'll ring them but agree I would rather have it done before if possible.

Spoke with MCO Wigan. Fine to go a bit over 10 thousand for service.
Asked why they were no longer doing Indian and all he said was a head office decision and looking for somewhere else in the North.
Nearest dealer is Midwest Moto Stourport which is not ideal if warranty work is required.
Doc will not be having another Indian as I can't be arsed traveling that far if issues arise.

So MCO can't get me in for a early service  Spoke with Indian they won't let me go over 10500 miles otherwise my warranty could be affected  Thinking today I'll try and get it in to either Indian dealers at Birmingham or Northampton amd ride the bike there which isn’t ideal. I love the bike but it could end up going.
Luckily Harley is good to go for our Spain trip

Provided you use genuine Indian parts (filters etc), surely you could keep the receipts and either do it yourself or get a trusted independent locally to do it for you and stamp the book?

It's hardly your fault the supplying dealer is no longer an Indian dealer??

I tried one yesterday and wasn't interested. Yes i could do it myself but would rather take it to a proper dealer plus with it being a new ish bike. Spoken to a Indian dealer in Northampton and hopefully take it there before I go off. Jayne says we should get shut but I had planned if one was going it would be the Harley. Banker has said I could have a new one but one would have to go.

What about Steel city classic's at chesterfield; they do Indian; ask for Mark who's a sound guy; it's not too far away; must be worth a call. You could also get bit of a decent ride coming over the top into the peaks to save motorway mls; :beerjug:

Cheers pal. I had already contacted Indian Northampton. Very helpful rang me back when they said they would and booked me in for a first job in the morning for the 31st July. Just glad it's sorted and can now go to Spain on it.

That’s what I do, RM is only 2 years old and still under warranty. I do my own servicing but buy a genuine Indian Service kit. The manual actually states you can DIY providing you use genuine parts or equivalent to the same spec. The RC system also allows the owner to reset the service / oil change reminder. Nothing difficult to looking after these bikes and easier and cheaper to service than an HD eg only one oil to change as opposed to 3.

I’ve had the CDH for ten years now and it had its first two services at a dealership thereafter it’s been DIY for the last 8 years.

Regarding Independents, they seem reluctant to work on them as they are an unknown entity.

Yesterday bike needed upgrades when he plugged it in. He showed me in the workshop while he was doing it. Now you couldn't do that at home.
I did service the Harley myself this time but I personally prefer to pay someone to do it.
Plus I know it's done correctly.
Hopefully.

True, unfortunately no one up here to do it. But I work on the if it ain’t broke don’t fix it ideology. As long as everything’s working ok I’m not too bothered.
