Was it a servicing related warranty claim?

No it was for a faulty screen mechanism, but a dealer brought my bike off me with 11,000 miles on it and accepted the owner service record I provided. Got my asking price too.

Castrol (synax i think its called) 80/90 gear buy it from your dealer and you need 2 washers for the 2 plugs, and you fill the fd with 180 ml of the gear oil.

I think Castrol 80/90 Gear oil is mineral based, whereas Castrol Syntrax Long Life 75-90 is fully synthetic. I think these both these oils provide different properties. The BMW link below recommends the Syntrax 75-90.
