Calterdon BMW Inverness

600 mile service: £88.74

6000 mile service: £132.63 (brake pads didn't need changing).

Perfectly timed as i've just got back.

NOG
6k (without 1 year break fluid change): £120
Takes ~1 hour.

A little pi$$ed that they charge £5 + VAT to reset the service indicator!

Just booked my 6000 mile service, definitely going to need a new set of pads and tyre for the rear, perhaps even one for the front.

do dealers usually keep the Battlewings in stock?

I was a bit surprised when my dealer offered me a free first service as a buying incentive. My previous BMWs and all Japanese bikes have had a free first service, excluding the £35 for oil and parts, when did this £100+ first service become so expensive.

My 6k service at CW was about £150.00, but I'd already changed the front pads, and the front hydraulic fluid had been changed with the m/c under warranty a few months before... I thought that was a bit steep for what was a very basic lookie-seeum, so I spoke with Wally there, told him that I was a bit of a spanner spinner, and could I do the 'basic' servicing myself (which is mostly everything not requiring a diagnostic check...). He didn't see any problem with that and will still stamp the service book for a nominal fee...

I'm nearing my 12000 mile service... valve clearance etc.

Anyone had this done yet? What price should i expect?

Had my 12000 mile service done just a few weeks ago at SBW Hertford and came to £227

BVM Stroud quoted me £50 for 600 mile service when I bought the bike, as they subsidise cost. But then charged me £80 saying that it was only labour they subsidised. I will not be going back. Oct 09

SLM (now Vines) - OCT 2009 - 600mile service = £100

Couldn't get a loan bike as 3 weeks notice was not enough ........so I had to wait around in reception - which would have been fine if the wi-fi had been working as I could have continued to work as I had planned to do ......only Vines ripped out the wi-fi without any warning!

Was warned that in future, loan bikes will be charged for "to cover insurance costs" - probably about £35 but could go up to £50

So, where is this Bahnstomer place then? Looks like they might be worth a visit!

Anyone got the details of the charge for a 600 mile service on an 800 GS at Pidcocks?

Mine is coming up soon. Be nice to know what to expect. :(

Made to eat humble pie. When I paid for this service I didnt cause a fuss or complain. Then today I recieved a totally unexpected call from Tim who had just spoken to his colleague recently back from hols. They do only subsidise labour, but they were reinbursing me £30 to cover any misunderstanding.

I am just not used to this kind of service from main dealers. Maybe they're not all the same after all :thumb. Thumbs up to BVM.
