if BMW tried to charge me more than £500 for a major service, I'd be cross.

Mines in this week at BMW...
The service due is the major service which comes out at £610.00 inc. VAT

Oil and Filter (annual)
Checking Valve Clearances (Every 12k miles)
Spark Plugs (Every 12k)
Air Filter (Every 12k)
Final Drive Oil (Every 2 years or 12k)
Brake Fluids (Every 2 years)
Lubricating Drive Shaft (Every 12k)

brake pads at 9k miles ??? really ??? i do 12k / set and i'm in London .
what was done in the service ,vc check ? seems very expensive .

Its done 4 euro tours 2 up with luggage....on lots of narly twisties up and down passes. The pads may of lasted till the start of the next tour...but the dealer asked how many miles I would do before next service...and I think it will be around 6k......so had them done now to save the 70 mile round trip next spring.
