So far not very impressed

I know. Basecamp is still the best route and track planning and management app. If only they’d make it work on iPad.

But I guess Garmin’s biggest market is all the healthcare and fitness stuff which kids all of your data into some colossal database somewhere.

Meanwhile we’re left with Explorer, which is truly shit - MRA is much better.

Basecamp still the best - really, maybe in your option, but not mine. A lot of the issues you seem to have are down to user error and not MRA, most of us manage very well with MRA vs Basecamp.

I don’t think there is a “perfect” system out there, I use MRA to plan routes and I occasionally use Calimoto, rarely BaseCamp and they all have their quirks.

I prefer using MRA to plan routes as it’s more intuitive than BaseCamp but I do often get issues with the XT not using the exact route I’ve planned due to it finding a ”better” way between 2 waypoints, but I’ve learned to work around that.

I only stopped using BaseCamp as it reallY doesn’t work well on my M1 MacBook despite the recent update, but I’ve got myself an old Lenovo laptop which seems to run it really well so I’ve been using it to check my routes in BaseCamp before sending it to the XT.
