Software Update - Knock Sensor

A guy at work said that there is a software update that he has had done (today) here in South Africa (his is a 2007 GS, mine is a 2006 GS) - He has been told that it is something related to the petrol available here.

Has anyone heard of this software update? and is it applicable to a 2006?

Knock Sensor Mod Applies to Bikes from March 2007

I don't really like taking advice (I would rather refer to the communal font of knowledge, but since the font is dry)! I asked the dealer.

Apparently the mod only applies to 1200 GS's (and I presume GSA's) from March 2007. I'm not sure if it's a 'South africa only' mod (can't imagine it) but if you have a March 2007 or newer GS, I'd make enquiries!
