Sold it,had enough

BMW have built the best GS to date but spoilt it with a few problems in areas that people cant ignore hopefully they will sort these problems out soon before the bike get a reputation like the first 1200 did only time will tell.

I'm curious as to on what basis you became a mod, it's certainly not your 'unbiased' opinion!!

Perhaps inane posts in as many threads as possible got you the gig? :nenau

Someone says they've sold their bike and I said bye bye then. Nothing wrong with that.:nenau Someone else construed this as bullying or something to do with "power", which I find hilarious.

I think some people here need to spend less time in the sun.:comfort

Stop the rattles the jerky fuel injection. and the return to the clunky selection of 1st gear.:beerjug:

Not really many problems.

The jerky fuel injection is noticeable only <3500rpm and will no doubt be fixed with a software update. My (previous) F800GS had an almost uncontrollable jerky throttle at the start and it was fixed with a software update for the fuel injectors, even though it was a cable throttle and not electronic. I'm also hoping that Poolside's IICE Air over on ADV Rider will solve the problem (if it ever arrives).

What rattles?

Clunky selection of first gear. Yes, the Wasserboxxer does that. It's no worse than many other bikes I've owned over the years. The love of my early 20s was a 1984 Kawasaki GPz750 Turbo that clunked like it had been hit with a mallet when first gear was engaged. Acceleration, however, was sufficient so that, when pushed, it would reach critical velocity and break free of the Earth's gravitational well. Can't say the stationary clunk mattered by the time 2nd gear had been engaged; I was usually too busy hanging on and maintaing control of my sphincter. 20 years later I still cannot see how a stationary clunk affects handling of an otherwise excellent bike.

I'm with Nutty: bye bye. Enjoy the shiny chrome and unique handling of your new Harley.

I think the OP is going to have to become a LOT more understanding of a bikes flaws if he's buying a Harley.

Nice bikes and all that, but by christ they're agricultural!

I like anything with two wheels and an engine me. In my view there are great bikes, good bikes and bikes I don't like but that, doesn't mean they're not great or good in someone else's eyes.

But trading in a GS for a Harley........come on. You wanted out big time.

(Or you have a secret fetish for all the gear...)

PS... +1 for Nutty....bye bye!

Nutty a moderator:blast

I was here all ready and waiting for the invite, but it never came:augie

Disagree about the clunky box, the bike I rode was fine, gearbox had character:D rattles :nenau again bike was too smooth and 'japanese' for my liking.
Jerky throttle.......my main grip with the new bike, the throttle is feckin awful and would stop me from buying one to start with. Takes about 15 minutes to work out that this is the bikes biggest flaw.

Enjoy ya harley, you'll be bored of it in 2 weeks:blast

I made no reference to your "Bye then" comment because it illustrates my point beautifully.
In my opinion a moderator should have the ability to remain unbiased in order to moderate effectively, you have shown very quickly that you are unable to do this.

What a shame ........

How do I have a biased opinion?:nenau

Nutty,
I, for one, enjoy your posts and pictures, both here and in AdvRider. Keep up the good work! :beerjug:
