BMW related of course (mostly).

With latest update from BMW Germany this week, the tire pressure gauge problem with spokes is still there. As for the bikes that already got it, my info from two sources varies (typical in Greece)...

One guy told me they just deactivate it and it is "pending" a future update (or a change in rims or a change in the valve) and owner doesn't get any money back for that (!). Another (BMW obviously) guy told me the totally remove it and refund the customer. I'll ask a third person soon. (what happens in your area btw?)

What both agreed, was that the system is able to be fitted in the future for people that want to add it.

White LED blinkers are available now (I don't know if it is news for you - as I don't read much of the forum for the last few months - but it was news to me).

Antispin is also readily available (also news to me, thought it will come in the next 1-2 months).

K1200R is a reeeeeaally mean bike. I'd love to have one, just to... have it. A jewel.

Adventure was great too, a real GS, but still too fat and heavy for my taste. To MY opinion, less versatile than the normal GS, but this just my opinion. I love the colors and the saddle though (why don't they give those to the normal GS too?).

The new F650X series was there and looking good. Xchallenge was way too tall for me (damn), I nearly dropped it. They can really play in their corresponding fields. Now if only they got some meaner colors (this can always be rectified of course).

Megamoto was also there and of course people drooling around it. I open a parenthesis though that, KTM bikes of the same family also looked great.

Speaking of other bikes...

I also checked on the Uly once more. I verified I hate this bike. I don't really get it. It is way too American ("yeah we can drop everything in, it doesn't have to fit and it doesn't have to work, but you can claim to your friends that it is there") for my taste. I won't comment more (because I really don't want to hear the comments of Uly friends).

The ABS-enabled V-Strom (650 and 1000) looks (and performs and in general works) great and really if someone wants a bike with less dirt orientation than even a GS (650 or 1XXX) but still versatile this is the bike to have. Maybe a future F800 revision can strike it, but not yet.

ABS comes in more and more bikes (and scooters - even small cc scooters) nowadays. Not a BMW-oligopoly any more.

(Girl) Models were not that great as other years.

Thank you for reading.

Good first post NLS -Welcome :) The show sounds like it was good, did you get any pictures?

From what I have heard you guys have some great roads and tracks to play on, and I get parts shipped over from Motoraid from time to time so you have some good shops as well :thumb

Cheers

Thank you.

AAOF this is not my first post, most probably somewhere close to the 800th. Just the first of the few (as I don't plan to write and esp. comment much) I will write since I recreated my username (as my old banned one got tottaly deleted recently - I don't even know if my old posts are still here); let's call myself "NLS Mk. II".

We have great tracks (and nowadays roads too) to play on, indeed. Our bike shops do have good prices since Greeks are very active with their motorcycling.

PS. I cannot find where I edit my signature, I must be blind.

Not sure if you can edit a sig until you are a sponsor. Motoraid is great - TT parts quicker and cheaper than from TT in the UK

Ermm.... Banned?

Indeed, BMW no longer have a monopoly on ABS systems but their systems still rule the roost for effectiveness over a variety of surfaces according to tests.

I am interested to read such a test, since this forum is flooded (ok not flooded but you can find many) with posts winning about BMW ABS.

I want to agree with you (I own an ABS BMW and I have been saved by BMW ABS already), but I'd like to see the educated opinion (yeah whatever) of some journalists.
