OK lets start!

I'l go do this topics and locations for not be so boring, and in advance ask sorry for my English cause is far from perfect.

Some tips:

Live here is very simple, organized, safe and clean.
You can easily ride your bike without have any safety issues or problems with locals, we like to receive foreigners.
Police is here to help not to difficult, Please do not try to corrupt then cause in that case you my get serious issues.
We are not a nasty low cost destiny, we have what you call "great value for money" you can have a luxury hotel here with better conditions and 2 or 3 times cheaper that London.

Cause we are small we must invest in quality not in quantity, so if you are searching for nasty rooms at 10€/night, noise and students drunk every were, stay in Spain cause they got a lot.

If you are searching for good weather, outstanding food and wine, good roads, great landscapes and things difficult to explain like the smells and the light you MUST come!

Lets start from one of my favourites areas the deep Northwest of Portugal the capital of that region is Bragança.

This is the route that I recommend always inside the Montesinho national park, beware that's a mountain road with lot of curves but with a good road.

I have a few days spare (18) in August, so may have a quick visit back to Northern Portugal...... Braganca, Chaves, Vinhais, Montelegre, Melgaco, Caminha, Viana Do Castelo are all worth a visit.
I can't wait, but not with my GSA this time, I'll be smoking my KTM990AdvR! :-)

Great suggestions RJC. Thank you.

I'm definitely heading over to that region next week. Last year we were in the area and had a great stay in Chaves.

RJC.

This is very good.

Thank you for telling us about the area in the North.

The food looks delicious.

Any more?

Gastronomy and wynes is decidedly a huge advantage in Portugal, specially on the North.
We have typical dishes thats most foreights are not usted to see or iven eard about, but wen you taste them you say WOW.
In the UK every tiny restaurant is on the web here not specially the rustic best ones, they dont iven wont to ear about advertaising, so thats why is difficult for outsiders to know it you need a local help.

Once in impossible describe flavours and smells by words the best thing to do is made a group of UK'S that like to eat, drink and ride came for a weekend and I'll accoumpany you and show you the best.

Well I shodnt tell this here but last mounth came a driver from UK to delivery me a bike it was a late Saturday and I hask him were go dinner he said already had a sandwich on a station, so felt sorry for him and tell him to park the truck and came have dinner with me, so we went to a special place and ask for "arroz de sarrabulho" that is a hit here wen he starts just look at me and said "ho dear" and eats eats just finish like 1/2 hour after me when thers nothing left and he sayd This is the best I eat in my life wath is this and I tell him that is pork very typical in this region and he made a very serius face and say in my religion we are not allowed to eat pork, and you are joking me this is questionless lamb. Upsss Ok we dont have that kind of issues :D

well if its food in the north of Portugal this thread is evolving to... if you go to Braganca , then possibly one of the finest and coolest places I have had the pleasure to eat in is Solar Braganca amazing food and free poured cognac.

Hi RJC - thanks for all the info and pictures. I will be in Braganca for 2 nights with 8 friends in mid June and would appreciate any information regarding the best places to eat and enjoy a few beers & wines. We are all 50+ but enjoy good food and wine. Any ideas gratefully received to save wasted time.
