Hi Everyone,

My Speedo has gone duff on my 1100gs, I have orderd a new cable from Motobins as I suspect the current one has snapped. Is there anything I need to bear in mind when I come to change this? I have had the screen off/headlight out in the past so that is ok, Is there an easy way of getting to the back of the clocks without removing them?:clock
Cheers in advance:)

ermm maybe an easier way..

If you really don't wanna fuss,

Unscrew the bottom end of the speedo cable from the wheel, pull out the cable, shake it about to make sure if it had split both sides come out.

Slide new cable from housing(they do come out easy) and refit in old housing. That is of course if you really could not be bothered.

cheers

PS. I of course have only seen this ;) and don't take any responsibility for confusion or swearing that may occur whils't attempting above mentioned method. :)

Hi,

I broke my speedo cable once when the bike fell over one morning (I had a bad hangover). To replace it I did not have to remove anything but it did take a little patience. The cables are a bit fragile on the GS so the main thing to watch out for is that the connection to the wheel is alinged properly.

Cheers

Richie

Cheers Richie, Maverick and Boxer, I will go for the headlight out option when the Postman brings my new cable.
