I'm nearing the end of restoring a 1978 R100/7 and need to find a replacement speedometer glass due to the original being cracked.
Motorworks list one but no longer stock it due to 'inconsistent supply quality',
Motobins don't list it.
Has anyone an idea where I could source one, or has anyone had one cut successfully at a glass suppliers?
Thanks.

you could put clocks on from a different model of bmw like a rs or 100s as they look the same

I have a "new" speedo for a 75/6. In lovely condition and comes in (tatty) original box if you are interested? At the very least you can take the glass and other spares from it, or possibly replace the whole thing? It was old stock and I bought it just in case it was needed.

Apologies if this should be in the for sale section, but technically it is not for sale.

Thanks for the offers, but it's just the glass I need.
The bike was purchased in the UK, re-registered over here, (France), and I've just bought a km speedometer assembly of French eBay, so everything's sorted except the glass!

What is the gearing ratio on the speedo?

Think I might have one that would suit.

The glass is actually part of the housing which contains the speedometer and the tacho.
I could just buy another housing but at £80 :(

Thats what i had to do earlier this year for the 90s, i asked and asked in the end it had to be new..
