MY SPIII will not switch on with either bike power or batteries. Have checked all connections both internal and externally. Does anybody know if there is an internal fuse in these systems.

Cheers

Mick

There is no internal fuse, I had mine apart, I found that mine would not run off battery power due to a loose screw which fastens the circuit board on to the battery compartment terminal, but it worked fine of the 12v supply lead. If it's out of warranty may be worth a quick check inside for a loose connection, failing that Garmin, do a service and repair at a fixed price.

GPS Sorted..

Thanks for your answer Noel.

Stripped it apart and found it was quite damp inside, so dried it out and it worked fine, spent the day it failed out in the heavy rain we had, it packed up again after a long ride in todays rain. Put it on radiator dried it out and it works again. Just need t find some way of resealing it. Out of Warranty.

Silicone sealant is the way forward, a tiny bead around the seal then screw it shut, (it can be taken apart again if needed) just check the seal around the screen is not broken ,usually due to applying pressure cleaning the screen, aswell.
