This morning I loaded up the California and drove a couple hours NE to Tyrone PA to pick up the Stelvio. Kissell's had received 4, mine and their stock unit were on the floor, mine the one having had heated grips installed. The other two were also pre-sold and had been picked up a few days ago.
Their main line is BMW which they have about 80 in stock, compared to 20 Guzzi's and 25 Aprilia's. In chatting with Josh (the owner) I asked where the new GS was because I wanted to check it out. He grimaced and said they have none, because they're all on hold while BMW fixes/replaces the starter relays, and seemed pretty frustrated about it. He feels the Stelvio will be a very good seller for them as they are coming in about $9,000 less than the 1300GS ($18K vs $27K).
I didn't get to ride mine (other than out the driveway and back in drizzle) so I have little impression to offer and I've never ridden a V100 Mandelo. What I did notice is it sits and feels very similar to the V85TT which is a very good thing IMO. The exhaust has a nice sound to my ear and I didn't notice much in the way of mechanical clattering like R1250's and 1400 Guzzi's make.
The wet clutch does drag which requires more effort shifting from 1st up to neutral, and from neutral with clutch out, then in, it makes a noticeable crunch and light lurch when going down to 1st, somewhat like a modern Harley. But this is on a cold bike with 1 mile so maybe it will improve some.
The windshield moves smoothly up and down with its motor whirling louder than shields on other bikes I've had, but come to think of it the bike wasn't running when I moved it. It doesn't have a dedicated switch, you select "windshield" in the menu then use the up/down arrow buttons. Same procedure to turn on and adjust the heated grips.
While the gold-gray colour scheme looks good to me, I just don't care for flat paint finishes. I've become used to it on the Goldwing so I guess I will on this as well.
The pale silver finish of the drivetrain feels pretty rough, more akin to medium sandpaper than cast aluminium or smooth painted metal. I hope it's not a dirt and stain magnet.

That's all I can think of at this point. It's supposed to reach mid to upper 40's (7-8c) without rain this weekend so I plan to ride some then.
