WTF are people that hard up?

The bike is secured thank ****, but they stole the cover! I really do despair.

That was my initial thought too!

Was an Oxford ProTek elasticated front & rear with a secure strap going under the belly.

Blown off? Very 50+ mph winds here last night?

My thoughts exactly, when I was a copper I was sent to a house where the complaint was that someone had stolen a shed!!!! leaving the contents on the floor which was a concrete slab. Took about half an hour to find "stolen shed" about 500 yards away in a haulage yard. The cctv showed it flying into the yard almost intact like something from the wizard of Oz, didn't half shatter when it landed though. Mother Nature is a powerful bugger at times.
I wouldn't be worried about it.

Had that happen to me . I also thought it was the wind but they had to cut it off the chain as well to get it, Scum!!:forry:rocketwho

There is a related scam here. If you use a chain that has a cloth outer you need to carefully check for cuts and any offing feeling links.

The scam is usually done when the chain is left attached to street furniture so that the link is cut, rejoined by cable tie and then covered by the cloth. When you park your bike and secure it, the thief just cuts the cable tie.

The related bit is the knife used to cut the cover straps and then removing the cover to reveal the bike type etc
