My HP went down on me today  never mentioned that in brochure...:augie would have paid more had I known.

shock absorber gone bang lucky I use my body to stop the bike from getting damaged any further...:augie

Will get it fixed for the 12th I guess....:blast

2 HP2 or not 2 HP2????

Almost certainly will be on the HP2 as the bloody KTM's blown the Head Gasket..... not sure it'll be fixed by the weekend. Ho, hum, better put the off-road wheels and head guards back on... had only just taken them off:mad:

S

hmmm ... how many HP2's going? Although tricky for me to make it, it'd be a great to see 4 HP2's having fun. Very tempting

Foot and Mouth

Hi, just seen the posting ref the Wombat Hunt this weekend and would like to come along. I have missed the last 3/4 hunts and would like to catch up with you all. I have sold the XL500s and have gone over the the orange side......I just wondered if the foot amd mouth outbreak is going to mean that a lot of the lanes will be closed?

Regards, Clive

Hi Roy,
I am up for a ride on the 12th August. I hope foot and mouth doesn't get in the way...

Tim

Hi. I quite fancy it, but I only have a 1200gs and I don't know anyone else on this forum. I do have a set of tkc's on it and I've done a few odd bits of trail riding over the years. What do you think?

Ha! - At least you've got TKC's - I've got the OEM Tourance's. Still, if it's nice all week maybe it'll dry up a bit :nenau

to answer a few...

as someone who's done a few Wombat hunts I'll try and address some of todays questions....

The route is a varied mixture of mud, chalk/flint, sand, roots, and chalk; there are some tricky bits on the climbs/decents and through some deep ruts.

Tourance shod GS - no, unless it is bone dry. I was out this weekend and there are still a lot of wet bits around:( Also remeber this route has chalk climbs/decents which are like grease when even slightly damp.

Not ridden off-road/little experience on GS with TKC's - see above unless very determined.

Have done off-road before and have TKC's on yer GS - yes it's definately do'able if your up for a challenge and working up a sweat

Pogo's - no problems:thumb2

As regard F&M, I was out at the weekend with DersetRat and we came close to the 3KM exclussion zone around Wanborough - we bumped into a very pleaseant lady famer and an even more pleasant Spainish Lady from DEFRA who we chatted to for about 10 mins and then decided not to ride a couple of lanes close to Wanborough. As Roy's (Bluesweepers) route is way the other side of Guildford I would guess that we should be OK unless the outbreak spreads or crops up in other areas in which case i'd expect a country wide shut down.

I may be able to put in a reccie ride on Friday evening to check out some of the lanes. If I do i'll post a report on Friday night/Saturday morning.

Jarv.

Right. I'll give it a go and see where I get stuck, fall off etc.
Anyone else fancy buddying up with a 1200gser. I'm not quite a novice but not too far from it.

I have a worn set of TKC's off my 1100 lying in my garage. You can have em if you want. Might make it more fun?

I'm in Sidcup. Let me know. I can stick em on for you.

Glad to see there are some other mad buggers on proper bikes gonna give this a go .:thumb
I have done the wombat hunt before on my gsa, one thing i did notice is because the big bikes are slower on the lanes you dont get any rest until one of the pogos gets a puncture or brakes down:augie. also bring something to drink because you wont be able to get one until lunch.

Assuming i dont get any last second work offersfor that day, ill join you on that trail Ride.

Last time i turned up with my 1150 GSA,and the route wasnt too bad at all, except for the v-shaped ruts......oh and the fact that i seemed to attract mud like a mud muppet.

I have ordered my new set of tkcs today to make
sure of maximum fun on sunday ,
Just a thought i have heard there is a new case of
foot and mouth is this going to affect play .:(

anyone heard what areas are shutdown?

Or do we have to turn up in rubber suits and gasmask....i dont mind too much but i normally reserve that sort of thing for my special weekends.

front end of HP in a million bits:blast should have it back in more or less working order:augie just can't seem to fit it all back together:blast

If im there i will be on my 1100

Hey Kevhdr,

I see your from Ashford. Me too. If your ever up for some green laning around this way let me know. I know most of the lanes and I am always looking for people to ride with....I get bored talking to myself all the time!

Not sure if I can make this event though :blast
