Tall gear?

I've finally saved enough pennys to buy myself a F650GS(twin) (secondhand) as I've decided to sell my 1150GS, I don't do enough two up riding to justify such a large bike, one thing I love about the 1150 is its tall 6th gear, do all 650GS's come with this or is it an optional extra?
There seems to be quite a few out there, is there anything I should watch out for or any extras I should make sure I get?

All the 800 twins have 6 gears

All the gears on the F650GS twin are higher than those of the F800GS due to different sized front and rear sprockets used in conjunction with the close ratio gearbox from the F800S and ST.

Which is a bit of a nonsense as with six gears BMW could have spread them out a bit more giving both bikes the lower first gear of the F800GS (or indeed even lower) and the higher top gear of the F650GS twin.
