Hi all, what would be the cause of a tappety sound on an oilhead when hot it sounds fine when cold but tappy when hot. mileage is circa 85k.

would this sound be coming from the right hand cylinder perhaps? the throttle body in particular??

I just changed from 10w40 to 20w50 which seems to have helped.

is it on the left side? where the tapping/rattle is coming from

Have you checked/adjusted valve and rocker endfloat clearances?.
If it's a ticking noise,look for worn pivots in the TBs.
