tell me about your 1190

i called in at the dealer about getting one of the retro fitting heat shields and the robbing bastards tried to stitch me for £37, so i left without it.

Show the twat this. Fitted FOC by my dealer.

Heated seat

i didn't want to press the point as i didn't buy the seat from them.

I have the ergo seat too, my dealer wanted to charge me £37 to fit the heat shield I called KTM they said I could have it fitted free.

All done know better but not great.

Hope that helps.

Any body here go from smt to adv? I'm seriously considering one. Especially now with the travel pack included. I love the smt but the adv might be more suitable for my longer daily commute.

My dealer in Toulon did this for his own use, so don't fret neiljitsu cos you can supermoto your adventure. I was saving this for Outomunch but he will see this anyway now. p.s. not liking the look personally.

I don't mind the 19 front, I had one on the gs!! Going to test ride one next week. I like the long service interval, also the 150 bhp is pretty appealing. What kind of tank range are you guys getting?

I got a best of 54.5 on my hols this year and a worst of 48. Cruising on the Autostradas and autobahns between 80/95, I always got around 215/225 miles before the warning flagged up. But there are those who must rag the arse off theirs through the tears and get much less.

If there is a new 1290 adv coming out, that would explain the travel pack deal. I wonder how good a deal I'd get on the adv. Hmmm

I've seen a few pics of the 'Super Adventure' and I'm guessing it won't be replacing the 1190, but possibly being KTM's version of the GSA. As for it having the 1290 engine.......:nenau It's decal certainly states it having the bigger donkey.

I think the 1190 would do me!! Anyway test ride this week and decision most likely followed by financial pain..

Sheesh - just read through the entire thread (all 50 odd pages).
To be honest nothing that really bothers me - a few common niggles (clonking forks due to the stem nut, electrical issues, fuel, filters, coolant leaks etc) and one or two show stoppers (crap air box letting dust through, breaking stands) but probably no more than any other complex new bike (look at the issues with the BM toilet... ). I think the main thing to ensure is that you've got a good dealer who will treat you right and who knows his way around the 1190.

Looking forward to seeing how Cookie and Andres get on with theirs.

Generally people seem to be happy with theirs. Go for it, I'm sure it's a cracking bike.:thumb

Balls to all the nay sayers. Mine's the best bike I've ever owned. Love it, and so did Mrs Outtomunch. In fact she liked it so much, she told Andres he HAD to have one!
