Some bikes do that, glue some foam to the inside of the bash plate to deaden the noise bouncing back up:beerjug:

Yes, first thing I noticed was the change in sound around town. But once out on the open road, it disappears. I did think of getting some rubber sheeting and bond it in somewhere, but it'll hardly be worth the effort.

Took mine out for a spin along the coast to west bay today.

Fuck me! That is one hell of a bike :)

Picked mine up last week so still running in - what a hoot though, after 3 GS/GSA's. What'a the thoughts on tank bags? I usually like model specific bags as they fit better, but I also would like to try any option other than Touratech. Still think about luggage too, I have some Metal Mule panniers which I used on my GSA, and MM now do a balanced rack set to allow fitment of 2 equal sized panniers. But, they come up wide, and still leave a load of scaffolding on the bike. What about the SW Motech Quicklock Evo racks? It would really help to see some. Can't change the zorst til I decide my luggage strategy, either.

Crash bars turned up yesterday, so got them fitted and had to go and test them:D

Are you by any chance missing the weight of the GSA?

The WINGS Seat Coolers turned up today and I got them fitted ASAP. Quality is really top notch, fitting very easy and if they are as good as other buyers say they are, I'll be well pleased. I went for the gloss finish thinking they'd be a nice match for the carbon on the WINGS exhaust.

Panniers

Metal Mules interesting take on balancing up the panniers on the 1190, if you can't read the text they remove the silencer and fit equal size boxes the same distance apart and then send the bike up to Scorpion to make the silencer and link pipes to fit in the void. Not cheap mind but bespoke never is!

I spoke to my KTM dealer today about the seat coolers and he had never heard of them, he also added that I was the only one that had mentioned the heat build up, I can only assume that they must have only sold 1 bike then.
I find that in temperatures above 20 degrees it is quite uncomfortable especially when sat in traffic, on the other hand when it is cold and raining I'm quite glad of it, pity it can't be switched on and off.
I wonder if it has been a problem on the 990 Super Duke, SMT or even the RC8, what is the difference between those models and the Adventure?

Thats a great idea, But 'isn't all that heat that escapes from the sides at standstill now going to build up under the seat where all the electrics are'??
Just a thought:cool:

I've had the metal mules on all my GS/GSA's and they are brilliant. But, I'm just thinking the 1190 looks a lot less agricultural than than the GSA and I'm not sure I want all the scaffolding left on the bike when I take the panniers off. I looked at the KTM powerpart boxes today (the adventure ones, not the TT ally ones). They fit well, still quite wide and not as robust as the MM's, but they are supposed to be waterproof and they don't need extra frames on the bike. I'm also looking at zorsts and that Wings one does look nice! Is there any reason why the Wings zorsts wouldn't work with the KTM boxes?
