i read that fitting a different horn is a tricky business.
fit a bigger horn and the can bus detects more draw and shuts it down. relay it, and the can bus detects too little draw and shuts it down.
the OEM horn is a joke, so best off learning to not need with the horn IMO![]()

Horn.
No not the trouser excitement when riding my 1190 r.
Any one fitted a louder horn, the ktm standard one is very poor.
Yes, I have fitted a Stebel Nautilus. It has to be connected up via a relay. This is not a problem & I used the original horn wiring as a trigger etc to the relay - that way if anything goes wrong with the Stebel I can re-connect the wires to the pathetic OE horn.
The biggest problem is finding somewhere to install the Stebel. Some people split the compressor & trumpet - still not easy to find a location IMO. I resorted to mounting the whole unit on the crash bars (I also did this on my Triumph Explorer- there seems to be quite a few of us who have migrated from the Explorer to the KTM). Some would find the appearance of this a deal breaker - I can't say I like it too much, but I am prepared to put up with it in order to have a horn that can actually be heard.
Hi Stroller so you are saying with a relay on the bigger hooter it works ok
On my Explorer with a relay it melted the Hooter button (Replaced under warranty) without it it would only work once until the Ignition was turned off then on again it was a real pain in the but, in the end I put the stock one back on and shouted at people lol

I've also had fitted the issolastic bar clamps/risers and I'm well pleased with them.
