Bit of an issue with mine in the Pyrennes - got really hot (37 degrees) and after a long slow'ish pass stopped for petrol and as you do opened the petrol cap which resulted in a fountain of hot petrol/vapours erupting out of the tank and going all over the front of the bike. Was lucky not to get a face full
This caused the SA screen to go milky with lots of small cracks
Was very careful opening the fuel cap thereafter. Thankfully the screen held together for the rest of the trip
Got back home and traced the problem down to the vent pipe being crushed between the frame and a cable tie from the factory - had to take off the body work and tank to get at it
.................
Just out of interest Paul, have you ever (before or after sorting the breather) noticed petrol fumes when riding, coming from the filler cap?
Andres
I had this once - but then noticed I had not closed the filler cap properly, did not notice for quite a while as there was a tank bag on top, surprisingly little had sloshed out.

Never before I sorted the breather pipe - not noticed it since but earlier days!

tempted by one of those myself at that price.

Isn't that the truth :-/...and may get around to fitting it for the summer after![]()
