Tested a 1200gs this afternoon, well I was disapointed to say the least,
Went out of the carpark up on to the m-way heading west 70-80 mph and all the plasticks were rattling screen, tank badges black plastic panels on the side of the tank, vibes through the bars, and foot pegs, and not as much power as i thought it would be. It did'nt seem that much diffrence from my 1100, a bit softer through the gears and riding through town on and off the throttle, was better, but i did think the quality was not as good as my 1100,
built to a budget came to mind, but at £9,995 second hand, 56 plate 1200 gs its a lot of money for what it is. The ali bmw paniers and top box were nice and the aux lighting but they don't make the bike they only personalise it for you to you'r touch. I honestly thought this was going to be my next step in the bmw world but after riding the 1200 I think not. I will stick to my 1100 gs, and if i do fancy a change it will be the 1150 for me and not the 1200.
PS This is only my oppinion
