lots of bits and pieces. £200 of the £650 were two new switch gear. I'd broken the indicator paddle on one and the lighting switch was playing up on the other.

A bit of work this afternoon and its all going back together again.

This is my favourite part of a rebuild. All the manky old nuts and bolts get replaced with stainless. Dodgy old rubbers get replaced with new. Its a please to work on bikes when its like this

When the frame has been powder coated does it cover the frame number on the lower frame tube ?

You can still make out the number but it depends on who does your powder coating

Both top ends fitted. Just need to detail the rocker boxes.

New bearings and seals fitted in the gearbox. Currently ready for shimming

FFS!

I've only dropped the rebuilt gearbox while fitting it! I'd even put a load of bubble wrap on the floor. I was balancing the gearbox while connecting the neutral switch wires, dropped the gearbox and then batted it away from the bubble wrap onto the concrete floor and into the wall.

The upshot is my freshly rebuilt gearbox now has a broken end cover and a chunk out of the main case. I've spare end covers and cases but this is a kickstart gearbox so the only options to buy a new cover.

I've fitted loads of gearboxes over the years with no problems at all..so all told this gearbox will have cost the best part of a grand - New input shaft, bearings, seals and a circlip output shaft and obviously a new end cover.
