Tyre software - getting started

OK, I've all but given up on base camp, is Tyre any better? Are there any experts out there?

First question: How do I load the favourates from my 660? There is an option under the 'Garmin' menu but it's greyed out.

Also fot TYRE, as I've mentioned elsewhere on this forum, TYRE uses google maps for route planning. Is very easy to use and download to your T.T.

TYRE developers were constantly refining the program and now at Professional (there is a small fee), it is very good. Tom Tom have adopted it as its preferred routing tool.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that can't get on with Basecamp.

I planned a route in Tyre, saved it to my laptop (gpx file) then opened basecamp and saved it to my 660.

When I tried to use the route, all I gor was a series of waypoints with direct lines between them.

1. What did I do wrong?
2. Can I save the route directly from Tyre
3. How do I download my favourates from my 660 in Tyre and rename them?

Suggestion

I think that you might need to recalculate? I have had the same problem when I have copied a route to my Zumo from mapsource when I had a newer version of the map on the Zumo.

Yes you can, From TYRE tools menu, select 'garmin' and the menu changes to Garmin - from here 'Copy to Garmin'.
Re, downloading your favourites, in the garmin menu, there is buttons that appear to do this. Never used it myself though, try and see

OK, I'll try that. Also, how do you switch between shortes & fastest route?

Thanks for that I've just changed from Tom Tom to a Garmin Montana and I thought I'd have to leave Tyre. I found it in the Tools then Preferences.
