Hi, all.

Dont want to have a rant, but i am soooo hacked off.

My GSA is the one bought from Motorworks, and also the one that fell off the Napoli.

When i picked the bike up there was a problem with the Fuel guage, and they assured me they would get it sorted.

But due to lack of time on my part, i just had them send me the bit and i would do it myslef.

Not a difficult job, looked at the manual, and managed to get it out no trouble.

BUT after taking half a day to do it right, they have sent me the wrong part.:confused::confused:

Surely they should know what they are doing as they sold me the bloody bike.

Half a day wasted, and now i have to go through all the hassel of chasing them again.

Incadently you guys on here told me it was the fuel strip but they insisted it was the sender unit.

Have a look at the pics, and you will see what i mean.

Just goes to show you are all better informed than them.

Not looking forward to another telephone battle, just to get my bike fixed as it should have been when i picked it up.

I would just like to thank MOTORWORKS BMW for making my first few weeks of GS ownership a bloody nightmare.

Thanks

Simon

Doesn't really matter how much it was bought for, it was bought from a supplier of BM parts so you'd hope they had the frame / engine number etc and therefore could supply the bits relevant to the bike.

Personally, they've always been helpful and queried when I asked for something that didn't compute with their knowledge / thoughts / computer.

Surprised you did it yourself as if the fault was there when you bought the bike its their responsibility to fix it

Tell them to come and bloody fix it!!

motorworks

If there was a problem you should have left it for them to fix.
They did offer !!!!!!!!!!!!!
As for wrong parts major car dealers regular give wrong parts
It does happen
I have used motorworks for nearly everyhing for my bike they have never given me anything wrong
Ring them and they will sort it.I'm sure they didn't send you the wrong part on purpose

You have my every sympathy, but it was always going to be trouble.....

Am i alone in thinking you are being unreasonable, you chose to buy a bike that has an unusual history to say the least, but for that i say good for you. as number 6 says it is possible to have problems with a new dealer suplied bike, they have the bike in and fix it, easy isnt it, the company you bought the bike from were prepared to fix the bike for you, you chose to do it yourself for the reasons you stated and the time it took was your choice, i doubt they deliberatly supplied you with the wrong part, that was obviously a mistake, and im sure they will replace it for you without the afore mentioned "battle". Personely i would of contacted them before whinging :thumb2

Thanks for the comments, and to be fair i agree with what most of you have said.

Just hacked off after waisting half a day, and then not even having the right bit to fit.

Frustrated, yes thats all.

Roll on next weekend, and i will have another go at taking the bike to bits again.

Well at least i now know where all the bits go eh !!:augie:augie:augie

No major harm done, it's frustrating when stuff doesn't work, and that's what this place is there for. The advice on here is top notch I think.

As for maoning about a dealer. My personal view is that you always have to give the dealer the opportunity to give you good service. If they don't, you should talk to them directly first, in person if possible, but at least over the phone. If the result is something you are unhappy with, then feel free to post. Just try and keep it very factual and unopinionated.

Easier said than done as it can be emotionaly charged. My rule of thumb is that anything I post shouldn't be something that I wouldn't, and haven't already said to the dealer directly.

Good luck with it though. Also think it's quite cool that you have a bike from the napoli. Buying a little bit of history there in my opinion!
