garmin sent 2

Mine arrived today.

Not a bad wait, about two weeks, especially as I'm in no rush to load it.

Mine arrived today too - not bad as I ordered on the 24th Feb!

I installed it and followed the unlock procedure, it told me I can unlock for $75 + vat, I put a credit card in and it says 'invailid amount' and asks me to send a message to techsupport@garmin. I've done that but with the weekend here I am not likely to get an answer till Monday - anyone else had a similar problem?

Oh Yes oh yes!

Got mine today ..tried to kiss postman but he has other GSER's on his route so he knew the type of biker he as to post to!
I told him I don't ware 'chaps' have a bush under my nose, or ride an American bike and it would be ok ..
Well the good new was, in the sorting office they are aware of us GSER’s waiting for the DVD’s. and it would be ok to be nice to the customers.

Well., So, and, can’t wait to install, but had to walk the dogs, feed the cattle, feed new lambs, take misses shopping, have lunch in village (feed wife), clean out chicken’s, paint out side of barn, and then .. and then ..I get to install the NEW V9 DVD… Great!
All going well……………..
Got to the bit when it asked for the credit card details.. details were ok, but it said ‘ amount exceeds value! MmMMMmm call this number xxxxxxxxx which I did . Is it they are charging VAT on the upgrade price (17.5 %)

Nice man interviewed me over the phone and agreed that I did own a very old (his words) BMW Motorrad Navigator.. :rob ‘So,… So it still works well’ I said .. Oh Ok I’ll send you the unlock code. Can you give me your card details! ..mmMMmm What a pain for a process which should be so easy.
Well I’m now up and running.
Sorry for the rant…it anyone wants a copy..’ll try.

Yep - exactly the same ! What I did though was close all open programmes and link through the website, log in etc etc and enter the details there (through the unlock disc option). Bingo ! Card details accepted and I'm up and running.:thumb

Mine arrived on 23rd --works well but fills a 2Gb card. Does anyone know if 4Gb cards work in a 2610? Can loan disc? if anyone is desperate?:hide

I had an email from Garmin saying that the 2610 only supports 2GB maximum size card.

Further to my last post I called Garmin first thing this am and, when I told the guy that I was getting invalid amount, just confirmed I was who I said I was and that I did have the 2 units I have and took $88.12 from my card over the phone. He was very helpful but they obviously have a problem - maybe with older units as I have a Street Pilot III. I was very happy unit I unlocked the maps and discovered that the road I live on is not on it - it was before, on CN5 so is it possible I have changed something to stop it showing?
Lloyd.

I ordered mine on 19th February and it still has not arrived. I called garmin UK this morning and was told that they were putting a disc in the post to me today. What is the betting that two arrive tomorrow?
