Is this on multiple XP machines by any chance? I am seeing this right now on a couple of 120GB USB backup drives. All of a sudden they will not work on any of our machines.help

not quite sure what you mean?? its on my secretarys pc in the office. running windows xp pro? one usb port stopped working a while ago, but there were 2 others so not bothered. now all have stopped so cannot print etc etc

I am inclined to think it is releated to a recent Hotfix, all of a sudden USB drives just stopped working with some devices - the devices now show error 10 - Device not started and seems to be USB driver related yet they do not appear to have changed.
My laptop has four USB ports and they were taking in turns not to work with the USB mouse.
Decided eventually it was the mouse that was not working. It was a microsoft
one with no ball -forgotten the correct techie name.
However thinking about it did have trouble uploading a route into the 2610 as well despite changing the cable
