Which depreciates even more.
I do hope that the Voge is a good reliable machine , which in turn means it’s a low depreciation asset , and that benefits us all . The trouble is the Chinese products of any kind , over the last 10 years haven’t been as such . Let’s hope the next 10 years are good for Chinese motorcycle production. It’s looking promising but time will tell
My Voge can’t depreciate £8k in 8 months because it didn’t cost me £8k new, fully loaded.
There’s a good chance it won’t be worth much in a couple of years, but it will be worth more than zero.
Perception needs to change .And the UK will be the last place it will , owing to the fact that the archetypal Brit biker hates change, and hates pretty much anything that isn’t their idyll…combined with a weird need to conform and intermittent blinkeritis
Just look at how many on here slated the DCT on various Hondas, usually never having even tried it.
Roll on 2024/25 and BMW, KTM and Yamaha all launch auto options on bikes.
PCPs have ruined the UK bike market .Just look at how many stealerships (natch) have gone bust.
The pool of 50+ year old tossers who ‘upgrade’ to the latest Wankpanzer (other varieties are available) is diminishing year by year .Most can’t afford £20k for a base model unless they pound the PCP route.
They’re also getting old and knackered (looks in mirror and at fucked foot).
FFS-Manufacturers are even milking this by adding in new tricks such as bikes that lower when you get to walking pace, enabling the old and infirm (that’s us) to continue to be able to ride a 250kg bike that we really don’t need.
Slowly but surely the tide is turning .Yes, there’s still a market for the big bikes, especially for those that tour two up.
I love my Wing (thinking of selling it last year was an aberration) and it’s perfect for two up,and easily manageable with its creeper mode for car park manoeuvres etc.
But I’m done with big powerful adventure bikes.I really don’t want a 170bhp 250kg weapon-heck I sold my 1290R as I preferred the feel and ride of the ATAS.
And I see more and more people moving to the smaller bikes such as Triumph 400s or Himmy 450s etc-we even did a trip this year on two 450s and a 300.
Folks on here are buying a 400 for the weekend and then realising they actually ride it more than their big GS/Multi/etc etc.
Wife then says she’s done with touring so big bike gets sold.
Thats why I can see bikes like the Voge 900 becoming more popular. (It’s sold out till next spring anyway).
Folks will have a ‘small’ bike such as a 400 for meeting the lads and going for a spin and then they’ll have something like the Voge in the garage for the trips away.
Why have a £25k GSA sat in the a garage losing a grand a month when you can have a £9k bike that can do 80% of what the GSA can for 30% of the cost ?
Thats my reason for getting one anyway-living on an island and only doing 2/3 proper trips a year.
The Voge will probably only do one trip next year (Spain/Portugal) as I want to use my other bikes for other stuff.
But I also bought the Voge as an experiment. I want to see how it holds up after some use. Both in terms of reliability and usability/quality.
Absolute worse case scenario-it’s not worth a penny in two years (unlikely)-then I’ve lost less than £8k. Or put another way-less than some on here have lost since April this year on their must have 1300 Wankpanzer when they just have to trade up to the 1300 UberWankpanzer…..which then depreciates at £1000 per month……
Oh, and the best bit about having the Voge is reading some of the comments on here from the usual suspects who will forever more put vanity before sanity.
Fucking cheap chinky shite
