Yawn.....If you are spending £9,000 and going to lose a load in depreciation, with unknown long-term reliability and possoble parts issues....you're better off with a used Jap bike for £5,000

The forum is turning in to Groundhog Day!
‘If’ is the imporrtant word in this comment. It may be the most reliable bike yet and hold its money like a BMW used to. No one knows. If you are spending £9,000 and going to lose a load in depreciation, with unknown long-term reliability and possoble parts issues....you're better off with a used Jap bike for £5,000

You may be right, but no one knows. It’s a gamble, and it’s gambling with a lot less money than most bikes. If you are spending £9,000 and going to lose a load in depreciation, with unknown long-term reliability and possoble parts issues....you're better off with a used Jap bike for £5,000
I think he’s talking bollox. Bit like when he said the NT1100 was a poor seller , having described the best selling sports tourer in Europe .You may be right, but no one knows. It’s a gamble, and it’s gambling with a lot less money than most bikes.
You’re going to lose lots of money regardless of what brand you buy. So why not risk less to start with.
There’s another angle, insurance is getting to be a bigger problem as time goes on, so buy cheaper and hopefully the insurance cost will be lower as well.
Even the equivalent BMW is over 16k, and it’s not specced as well as the Voge.
In my own case I think I’ve finished spending big money on bikes, so cheaper alternatives are appealing more and more.
Agreed, but he may end up being right, we just don’t know. I may be getting an NT btw.I think he’s talking bollox. Bit like when he said the NT1100 was a poor seller , having described the best selling sports tourer in Europe .
Loncin make 2,500,000 motorcycles a year . And 3,000,000 engines per year .
The Voge has the same frame , engine, wheels, suspension, brakes and electronics as the BMW F900GS.
Which part does R1200RT think will be unreliable?
Don’t . It’ll lose thousands , being such a poor sellerAgreed, but he may end up being right, we just don’t know. I may be getting an NT btw.
True. I nearly cry when I think how much the wing has cost BUT, there’s no way you can put a value on the enjoyment it’s given me.Don’t . It’ll lose thousands , being such a poor seller![]()
Yet it looks totally different from the ‘donor’ bikeLooks like Voge are pulling the same stunt as BMW (and others) delivering bikes that aren't fully developed and then expecting owners to download revised maps to fix fuelling problems etc. I suppose it's no different to when we would all rush out and get a Dynojet kit fitted to our jap bike carbs. It's a shame the Chinese lift the boring styling from the donor bike as well as the running gear, a mild restyle wouldn't have taken much effort

Don't think its a "Donor" bike as such. Its underpinnings are the bike that Loncin manufacture for BMW and that BMW "Market". No more no less. I expect the main difference will be dealer distribution aftersales etc. But it appears that all of the main mechanical parts are interchangeable so you'll have the option of buying them from Voge......or possibly from BMW at a premium?Looks like Voge are pulling the same stunt as BMW (and others) delivering bikes that aren't fully developed and then expecting owners to download revised maps to fix fuelling problems etc. I suppose it's no different to when we would all rush out and get a Dynojet kit fitted to our jap bike carbs.
