I think loosing a couple of KGs off the rider would make a much bigger difference if one is that concerned with weight reduction. It’s an exhaust pipe it’s not meant to look pretty.

It’s cheaper to get to France and it’s a no brainer given that the food is a tad better, as is the weather, the roads aren’t there to swallow your steed and you might wake up to find your bike hasn’t been stolen…..and not every other biker is a FVC.
The bike and car world need to look at the incoming opposition and see they are very much being challenged and adjust their prices accordingly to keep up.

This thread is interesting as it’s highlighting the fact that two bikes sharing most of the same components (allegedly) are being viewed very differently .
One is supposedly a premium product,
The other is Chinese shiite ( allegedly).
The premium product hasn’t been without issues across its range over the last few years.
The Chinese product has yet to prove itself,the proof will be in how it deals with issues with the product,because BMW do tend to offer very good back up as long as you stay within the the bosom of the mothership

BMW has failed to admit many faults with its bikes over the years and has foisted the fixes on owners. Defective chains, defective CEV headlights, defective valve cover gaskets, stators that burn up, crappy bearings... Nothing premium about BMW except for the outrageous overpricing of parts.

Well it kept me amused for a few days….simple things and all that.
So you think an exhaust is meant to look pretty. Hmm, now to me that’s idiotic. I couldn’t tell you what the exhaust on my pickup, wife’s car or motorhome looks like and honestly as long it’s keeping it legal and quiet I don’t care. I’m the same with my bikes, it’s an exhaust, why people want to piss off other road users by making theirs louder is beyond me. To me that’s idiotic too. If one wants to make their bike lighter then the rider could lose a few KGs it will make a much, much bigger difference.

You moving the goalposts by bringing your 4 wheeled vehicles into this and relentlessly banging on about loud exhausts. You can buy exhausts that are lighter, much nicer finished and no difference in dB as well as the loud ones. Do you think MV or Akrapovic think their exhausts don’t look pretty?
