You moving the goalposts by bringing your 4 wheeled vehicles into this and relentlessly banging on about loud exhausts. You can buy exhausts that are lighter, much nicer finished and no difference in dB as well as the loud ones. Do you think MV or Akrapovic think their exhausts don’t look pretty?

I’m not sure any current motorbikes look pretty. To me they’re a tool for a job, certainly not to look pretty. My bike takes me on tours, visiting places, riding good, fun roads. It is way beyond me why you or anyone wants their exhaust pipe to look pretty. Very strange.
Did you deliberately miss the part where I suggested the rider lose a few KGs to lighten the whole bike and rider thing? This will make a much, much bigger difference if that’s your thing.

So you think an exhaust is meant to look pretty. Hmm, now to me that’s idiotic. I couldn’t tell you what the exhaust on my pickup, wife’s car or motorhome looks like and honestly as long it’s keeping it legal and quiet I don’t care. I’m the same with my bikes, it’s an exhaust, why people want to piss off other road users by making theirs louder is beyond me. To me that’s idiotic too. If one wants to make their bike lighter then the rider could lose a few KGs it will make a much, much bigger difference.

I think my Monster 1100 Evo looks great (fantastic to ride too). Being air cooled the engine doesn't look the back of a washing machine. Even my 18yr old old 1200GS looks OK from certain angles when I'm feeling generous.

I guess it all depends on what type of person you are. I’m not really bothered by the looks of any of my vehicles. I have them to do jobs/tasks for me. Providing they fulfil their duties then they’re doing what I bought them to do. I dropped my 2022 Rally pro on the Col de Somellier in august and broke some of the plastic bits. It’s still being held together with duct tape. Not pretty but does the job. Some on here would be panic stricken that their pretty bike is less than perfect. I’ll probably fix it at some point but I might just buy the new bits and keep them until a later date.

Any current GS will lose that the minute it’s out the dealer.
People with 1250GSs on here report of losing £8k in 6 months to trade ‘up’ to a 1300.

We get it. You’re a GS fanboy . But it’s a big world out there and others are wising up to being ripped off…..
