right don't know if this is in the right section but its my best guess. last week while i was away my gear change lever started to stick, so it required tapping back up or down to the normally position ready to do the next gear change. and as my bike was booked in for its service on tuesday i asked them to have a look. and they replaced the bush on the gear lever. i know as its an 03 but i got a years warrenty, so should this be replaced under warrenty? i know its only £5 for the bush, but its the £25 for labour, i would like to know if i can claim it back? anyone have any ideas before i make a fool of myself in the dealer's.

I have exactly the same problem - and mine is booked in for a service next week. Any luck with getting it sorted or do i need to fork out too?

Lube it with some good grease...........Threads on here about it...... :thumb

As I understand it the warranty covers mechanical breakdown and not normal wear and tear. I would have thought the expected life of the bush is longer than yours lasted and therefore it has worn prematurely and should be covered by the warranty

Common problem - 15 minutes work to fix .

Grease it well, then repeat once a year .

The problem is usually corrosion behind the bush so they should be removed the gear lever cleaned up and new bushes inserted

as regards warranty it can be down to dealership to workout wether it is normal were and tear or niglect but you should always try and get it for free
