Waterproof over trousers with a side zip?

I have a pair of Paclites for walking but have the Deluge for on the bike (marginally larger pack size) in a longer leg length than you'd typically have for walking. Strongly recommend whatever option you go for to get them in the longest leg length you can (unless you're a dwarf). For me the Deluge provide that sweet spot of durability and breathability.

Anyone found the Berghaus Paclite in anything but XS?
I've got a pair in 3XL 33in Leg. They work well. I had them on last year in four days of heavy Scottish rain, no leaks at all. I must add that both my bikes have the Cool Covers mesh seat cover so that may add to the lack of wet arse.
I have tried to buy another pair to have as spare, but I'm not seeing the Mr Batfastard size, only those sizes for the more slender amongst us. Perhaps the Paclite is an obsolete range and the smaller sizes are end of line stock.

Have a look at this site, seem to have a range of sizes.

Thanks. All sizes but mine! I'm a svelt 34 inch waist again - horray! I'm also a 34 inch leg.

Lads, just so we are talking the same thing. I'd be wearing these over a pair of jeans...

On that basis, you don’t just need some waterproof pants, you need protection in them as well. Aerostich Darien pants are perfect for this scenario. Designed to go over your day clothes, I used these with jeans/motorbike boots to commute to work, then changed into suit trousers/shoes when I got there.

No I SHOULD but I don't need protection!!! I just want something in my top box in case it starts pissing rain and I'm out and about. Other wise I'm happy enough in my jeans.

Okey-dokey… In that case it’s difficult to beat the vfm of Army goretex overtrews, or RAF/Navy blue if cammo isn’t your thing. £30 or less… Just a recommendation though 😉👍

These two don't compute (The RAF/Army goretex pants are as good as they get for quality).....I like having a pair of overtrousers bungeed on the bike if there's a shower forecast as I generally ride in bike jeans. All I want is to pop them on and stay dry...if they were blue or black (or camo) it would matter not as they'd be coming off half an hour later....each to their own I suppose. Happy hunting.

Fair enough point taken! I always equate army surplus with ugly smelly stuff. Rightly or wrongly! Also I’m in Dublin and I don’t think I’d be able to find that.

Look a good option but very limited stock as far as I can see. No xl long anywhere
