Weiser Wizards

Even if the rear turn signals were invisible (they're not) I don't see how that makes the bike dangerous? The brake light functions just fine and that's the main thing. Heck I follow many people who don't even use turn signals and the rear of their vehicles are undamaged. Probably the most likely cause of rear end collisions are from distracted drivers on their phone, fooling through menus on the vehicles display, lighting a cigarette, etc., and no amount of brake or turn signals will stop that because they are not looking.

have you never sat at a junction and watched all these modern cars with "faulty lights at the front failing in front of your eyes, as they indicate" ?

Its mostly not a failure, but a pathetic attempt by a 3 year old that's been brain washed by media companies, to add costs, complexity and confusion with the main purpose to increase road accidents. All helping the insurance industry and motor manufactures drive up profits - with the added benefit of harming society just as their overlords mandate...

AI has calculated the sudden change is distracting, and it changes road users focus from important safety critical needs to frivolous incredulity. All achieved by using canbus insanity to temporarily turn off functioning lights to PRETEND to increase focus upon a turn signal.

It goes alongside the pointless and unnecessary full width flickering LED blurry shit they are putting on the front and back of modern cars...

the end game is your wallet being empty shortly before they cull you - but the brain washing that is so prevalent informs most lemmings things have never been better

Update to this thread..... I spoke to Weiser and they offered to swap out the wizards for the WeiserCan for the difference in price. A bit more faff to fit, more connections and takes up extra room under the seat. But all works perfectly now, no error messages. Very happy.
I'm following the same route and have the WeiserCan ready to install. The installation video by Carl is for a GSA which has a slightly different wiring layout to my GS TE. Is your bike a GSA? If not do you have any tips for making the installation any easier or neater. I'm sure that I can work it out, but any advice will be much appreciated. Thanks.

Not too tricky. Tries to send you a DM but it wouldn’t work, send one back and if I can will let you know what I did, same bike as you,

Bit of a thread resurrection.

I bought Mike R's GS a few weeks ago having parted with stever1's Goldwing and am very pleased to have done so. I was aware of this thread before buying the GS so thought I'd see how things went.

The brake light fault thing happened 4 or 5 times on the way home, with me stopping, ignition off and on again and carrying on until I got bored of that and just left it in the fault condition.

By way of experimentation, all I've done so far is to disconnect and remove the Denali B6 light but left everything else in place -partly because I've not yet had the time to work out quite what everything does and why it's there. Key thing is that all the Weiser stuff is exactly as Mike left it but with the B6 removed.

And in the month of riding since removing the B6, I've not had a single error. OK, I've not done the same sort of sustained motorway riding since then however, as the first fault popping up was within about 10 miles of leaving Mike's house, distance covered doesn't appear to be a factor. I have used the cruise control quite a lot though.

I was originally thinking of taking all the Weiser stuff off and taking it back to stock, however having followed another 1300GS when we went out for a day, I do much prefer the way the Weiser stuff works the indicator LEDs so it's staying.

I do like the idea of having an additional brake light (the high level Weiser mounted B6 is particularly neat) but I'd rather do without than deal with the errors. I don't know if adding the Denali CANSmart controller in place of the Weiser one would improve things (I'm guessing that of the two Weiser boxes under my seat, one is sorting the brake/indicator issues and the other is powering the B6 - see, I said I wasn't sure what everything did yet) but I don't want to throw about £300 at the problem on the off chance it might help.

For now I'll leave well alone and see how things go.

I have just bought the vision ones from Shiny Side Up Valeting, hopefully no errors but I like the way they looked on the video.

Does the brake light still function with the warning present?
I'd like to know the answer as to what's still working and what isn't, but unfortunately I didn't check, and wouldn't be able to until the next time it happened as it resets when the bike is switched off.

And now the kit is off the bike so I might never know.

Ian (Gyp) bought this bike off me in early April this year and I had informed him of this thread and the problem with the Weiser Wizards. One one occasion when I had the brake light fault on the TFT I was just entering a car park. On inspection I had one indicator brake light out. The other was certainly working and I think the extra Denali light was also working.

If you want to contact Mark at Weiser Wizards I will support you as far as I can. This modification cost me over £300 and I am concerned that they are giving you so much trouble. According to their website ( https://www.weisertechnik.co.uk/install-guides/install-weiser-wizard-modules/#guides) they claim no fault codes guarenteed and have a 4 year warranty....I bought these on 17 Feb 2025 and still have a copy of the receipt.

Apart from this I hope you are enjoying the bike

Mike

Cheers Mike,

as you say I was fully aware of the Weiser Wizard issue when you sold me the bike so no issues there! As I say I've taken them off at the moment and want to get a few more miles done to make sure the problem doesn't recur with them removed.

Having followed an R13GS without WWs and seen what the lights are like stock, I'm quite keen to have them on and working so I will follow up with Mark.

Absolutely loving the bike other than that. It's now furnished with a Givi Weightless top case and Gilles enduro footrests and I think I've done more miles on it since picking it up from yours than I did on the Goldwing that it replaced in a year.

Have contacted Weiser and will see what they say.

Having checked the bike it's running 126 series software which isn't quite the latest but I doubt BMW will want to upgrade to see it it addresses an issue with an aftermarket accessory, nor do I want to pay them to do so!

Surely the ownness sits with the manufacturer of the accessory to ensure the hardware/software they use is compatible, forwards and backwards with the bikes they will be fitted to? BMW have no responsibility to bring a bike's software to a place where these things will function correctly.

Oh, I completely agree.

I said as much in post #45 earlier in this thread…. 👍
