Weiser Wizards

I only have the wizards and the under plate B6 yes. But even if I disconnect the B6 I still get the issue.

I do have a hex Ezcan but disconnected that for a while and I still get the issue.

But I do also have the Datatool tracker on the bike which plugs into the canbus on a wiring loom extension
The plot thickens.. then it must be to do with canbus tolerances which are obviously not the same for every r1300 gs.. I've heard the Datatool tracker can cause errors.. I've you tried unplugging the Datatool then reconnect the wizzards/B6 and Ezcan.. see if you the get the errors.. if no errors at least you know the Datatool is the problem.. if it is you can bin the Datatool and use a tracker with it's own power source.. "the Tracker Assist Nano" have a 2 year on board battery life and the tracker is replaced free after 2 years.. just a thought!

I have gotten the same brake light/no radar error message on my first ride out after collection from new. So should have the latest software version as its a 2026 year bike., I have the WW and B6 underlight only. No hex can, or anything else. Do have a Biketrac fitted. I switched the bike off and on again and it didnt reappear......yet! But slightly worried this will be a reoccurring problem....or not. To be proven!

Same here. 2026 model, fitted the ww last weekend without brake light and got the error twice during the first ride with it. With heated grips and seat activated on level 1.

Dont know the software version installed but i guess its pretty up to date as the bike has been delivered from new last month.

Will return the ww, the added value is too little to cope with these kind of issues.

Today I received an alternative for the WW, which is, according to the sales guy, functionally identical but should not have this particular issue. I will give it a go.

Interested to hear how you get on with these, 18 Months on a 13GS and not a fan of the rear lighting setup, God knows how this got through any form of certification.
My son, recently became a motorcyclist, following me the first time commented, Unsolicited I mite add, you're hard to follow as your indicators disappear !!! FFS, We obviously Didn't pay enough money for our steed...

Yeah, it is a bit disappointing how much money goes into making it fit for purpose.

Mounted them yesterday, but haven't had the change to run them. Need quite a bit of running before you can state with confidence that the problem is solved. I'll report back.

First thing I noticed though is that when you turn on the hazard lights, there is no braking light anymore. I believe the WW had the same thing initially but a newer version changed that to the standard behaviour.

I would have preferred that, i think, but dont consider it a real issue: in the end hazard lights overrule all and remain now better visible.

Did about 500 km this week with the hposkam devices, no issues while the WWs started having issues within 50 km or so.

So I'm gonna stick with them and return the WW.

I dont like the fact that the brake lights don't work when hazard lights are on though. Not handy when filtering.

This should be useful information for 1300GS owners if they're not happy with the standard configuration. Using the hazards when filtering is actually illegal here so shouldn't be a concern for anyone considering getting them here in the UK, though they will probably be subject to VAT/Import duty now we're not in the EU. Good find (y)

For me, being in the Netherlands, the new device was about 100 euros cheaper than the WW. But part of that is definitely tax.

Granada, Have you fitted a Denali B6 extra brake light.? Wondering if that would still work with the Hazards on, or if these new units even have the ability to fit the B6...
Thanks for sharing your findings.

Hello Granada, are these units proving to be trouble free?
So far they are.

I haven't, but they have this extra connector for this purpose. Actually, there are two versions (with and without) of the device.

I would assume this extra brake light keeps on working, and it could actually be a good reason for me to fit one. I'll see if I can find out about it.

I called the guy that is producing this new unit, and he confirmed that an extra brake light (like the Denali B6) will keep on working when the hazard lights are on. In fact, mounting such an additional light is what he strongly advises.

He said that he is not surprised with the issues of the WW as he believes they are over-engineered and overly complex. For what it's worth.

He is also working on a frame that allows mounting the Denali B6 directly under the top case, which would be a bit prettier. If weather permits I'll go there this Friday to see if it fits on my bike and then buy one.

Today i mounted the Denali rear light and indeed it works as expected: with the hazard light on the additional brake lights keeps on working.

Also mounted the Denali just underneath the top case. I like that better than the standard position of just under the license plate. It seems I can't upload a picture here though.

Hi Granada, thanks for the update, very keen to see the new mount and rear of your bike with the new setup, maybe one of the regular posters can help you get a pic or two up.
My new bike has finally arrived in the country, New Zealand to be exact, scheduled to watch it get unboxed next week on Tuesday, ride her away Wednesday, a new full spec Trophy blue, with ASA, so shall be looking to improve this rear light issue...

BMW vehicle's (cars or bikes) software i-level (an overall bundled batch of software in each module) is a movable feast...

it evolves in std cycles through the year - usually they have three official releases - 3, 7, and 11 which often turns up at dealerships as.....

Jan - over Christmas fiddle is the most volatile update - often causes major fun at dealerships. IT play time back at base is the usual IT quality of we fiddled about with server updates, it crashed we don't know why, we kicked it a bit, rebooted 15 times and its sort of functioning, so we claimed the overtime and ran away - How that leads to unstable updating of bikes that frequently don't start, is not one they talk about - these dead bikes, usually require big dealers to park up dead bikes and wait a week or so for more IT fiddling - likely related to security features, as they bring in more and more part baked protection - stopping us playing without the online secure gateway links back to base

May - we almost got the bikes we've been making since last Sept factory re opting to kind of work with this release

Sept - new model year i-level release - with refresh to add new toys - and associated bugs and foibles from yet more IT playing

when you check your i-level release - if it ends 501 502 503 etc its was already a patched release from the factory - RFT always ends in 500

there were actually 6 separate i-level releases in 2024 for these bikes - including rushed out bug fixes - maybe those extras were
TFT LCD cluster software iteration updates - as they chase random bugs in this software that customers are always finding

ISTA4 Version

  • Identification: Each vehicle has a specific I-Level that corresponds to its software version.
  • Updates: Regular updates are necessary to ensure optimal performance and access to new features.
  • Compatibility: The I-Level must be compatible with the ISTA4 version for effective diagnostics and service.

Importance of ISTA4 and I-Level

  • Efficiency: Streamlines the service process, reducing time spent on diagnostics.
  • Accuracy: Enhances the accuracy of fault detection and repairs.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Improves overall service quality, leading to higher customer satisfaction.

Understanding ISTA4 and I-Level is crucial for BMW technicians to provide effective vehicle maintenance and repair services.

Here you go, let me know if you want a different perspective.

Good luck and have fun with your bike!

Granada, awesome thanks for that pic, and kind words, looks great, more integrated and factory looking up top me thinks...
Also easier to get the wiring tidy and out of sight, did you find this when you fitted.?

Installing is piece of cake, a 10 minute job.

I didn't get the wiring completely out of sight yet (but didn't spend time on it as well), you can see it running from the back of the seat going under the top case. I do think this is the same with all extra brake lights though, nothing to do with this particular option.

I've had the WW modules and Denali rear light installed for a couple of month with no issue until this weekend. I've now has the "cruise control" issue twice during the same ride. Turning the ignition off and on cleared the issue but that's not a workable solution.

Has anyone had any luck getting a refund from Weiser given that there is very clearly an issue with their product?
