Same here. 2026 model, fitted the ww last weekend without brake light and got the error twice during the first ride with it. With heated grips and seat activated on level 1.
Dont know the software version installed but i guess its pretty up to date as the bike has been delivered from new last month.
Will return the ww, the added value is too little to cope with these kind of issues.
BMW vehicle's (cars or bikes) software i-level (an overall bundled batch of software in each module) is a movable feast...
it evolves in std cycles through the year - usually they have three official releases - 3, 7, and 11 which often turns up at dealerships as.....
Jan - over Christmas fiddle is the most volatile update - often causes major fun at dealerships. IT play time back at base is the usual IT quality of we fiddled about with server updates, it crashed we don't know why, we kicked it a bit, rebooted 15 times and its sort of functioning, so we claimed the overtime and ran away - How that leads to unstable updating of bikes that frequently don't start, is not one they talk about - these dead bikes, usually require big dealers to park up dead bikes and wait a week or so for more IT fiddling - likely related to security features, as they bring in more and more part baked protection - stopping us playing without the online secure gateway links back to base
May - we almost got the bikes we've been making since last Sept factory re opting to kind of work with this release
Sept - new model year i-level release - with refresh to add new toys - and associated bugs and foibles from yet more IT playing
when you check your i-level release - if it ends 501 502 503 etc its was already a patched release from the factory - RFT always ends in 500
there were actually 6 separate i-level releases in 2024 for these bikes - including rushed out bug fixes - maybe those extras were
TFT LCD cluster software iteration updates - as they chase random bugs in this software that customers are always finding
