Is there no way they can send you the v55?

Just that you are going to end up with a bike with 2 owners and at some point in the future a potential purchaser could think the fact the first owner was a dealership that it's an ex demo..

they wont do that rodger they say its bmw thats blocking that

Seeing as you'll now have to pay for your first service, why don't you fly over, pick it up and ride it home ? I've done this several times and it is very fulfilling. :bounce1 With cheap flights, I'm betting that it'll not cost any more than using a delivery service PLUS, it'll give you a chance for a good once over before you part with your hard earned. I had a TDM850 damaged in transit and it was a right royal pain in the ass to get it sorted out to my satisfaction.

Now I need to try to arrange to get the bike if I can and get it back here (anyone know a transport company?)

Nope, but if you'd like to pay my expenses and drop me at the airport when I arrive, I might be persuaded to ride it over for you ;)

Ok. So then this is nothing to do with being in the UK, it's simply a case of BMW using the fact that NI has it's own vehicle registration system to identify people buying a motorcycle outside their "designated" dealer area.

Anyone in England , Scotland or Wales who use the DVLA system cannot be "identified" by their address so can buy a bike from whoever they which to deal with, but we in this part of the world are therefore being disadvantaged as we cannot choose which dealer we wish to use.

Now this is not a "pop" at Hurst's, I bought my bike through them and am happy I did, but I see this as a direct abuse of the open market and rights of the consumer. :spitfire

i agree m8 but its the old story surly you should be able to go and buy anything anywhere in the UK the reasion I did not buy from Hursts is simple they dont have any and wont have till 2007 so then BMW punish me and tell me I cant buy in the UK how dare they !!!!!!!!!!

And still no return call from customer services I WONDER WHY

just had a call from BMW customer services wait for this

they would prefair if I bought from Hursts as "it would save any hassle" and they will try to get an extra allocaton of 1 bike with my name on it to be delivered to Hursts in September what a laugh !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i told them that is was not acceptable

Paul

Seems to me if you keep pushing they are going to have to change their preferred method of purchasing, it comes down to restriction of trade, use that phrase with them and see what happens.

Have you sought any legal advise on the matter? Trading standards or whatever it is :nenau

further update they can now get a bike around 22nd May it was allocated to a staff member but they will change it

Sounds like Hurst's got their way then IMHO.

Now im really lost

A BMW dealer in UK cant sell you a bike but BMW customer services can

Just to clarify, is the bike being supplied via Hursts?

Thunder they have offered to send a bike to Hursts (this would be an extra allocation) not one that Hursts have on order
