I am looking to get a pair of boots and would like to know what others wear.

I like the look of the new FLY mavericks partly because they look good value.

I dont want to spend much more than £150 if i can help it although i know more £ usually = better boot.

Cheers

Ive stuck with SIDI for the past few years now, both road and off-road.
Middle price ranged, good protection, comfortable, and good fit, especially if your wide footed.

I've got 3 pairs now.

I mostly wear these Hein Gericke Rallye GTX. They're gore-tex, extremely comfortable and offer good protection. Bit over your price limit but I picked them up with 20% off in one of their sales.

These Frank Thomas boots for the summer on a sporty ride:

And these (picked up last weekend off this site) for off-road jaunts.

One very useful tip is that a group of manufacturers often sell identical boots branded differently. So the first ones I posted are also sold by TCX and BMW with some very slight modifications. Similarly the off-road boots I've got are also sold by TCX and I think BMW with more obvious differences but essentially they're the same basic boot. It helps when hunting for the best price as they all seem to be on sale at one time or the other.

Sidi Canyon boots - 100% dry, warm and you can walk in them to. Top end of your price range but I have had mine for three years and use all year round.

Lowa and Altberg

Got a pair of Lowa Desert, nice and strong as well as VERY light, cope with light showers and freezing temperatures, good grip on any type of ground... except petrol station floor covered with diesel... oops.

Second pair is some Altberg Hogg, very strong also, not so light and the sole allows more vibrations through than the Lowa, especially on trails, rocks, cobblestones, etc...

Third pair is... Oh, sorry, wrong forum, thought I was on LFGSS!!!

Sidi Flex-Force / Crossfire. Great boots, and once broken in all-day comfortable and the hinged ankle means you can walk in them.

Got mine from Ebay for £100.

I currently wear Daytona Roadstar GTX:

Thinking of buying some of these:

I've got the crossfires, too, and am very pleased with them.

I do need to wear long socks if I don't want the tops to annoy me wher ethey rub, but other than that I can't fault them.

Oh, actually, I can on one point, the squeaking and creaking is severe.

I've had a pair of these for a couple of years and think they're great. Defnately waterproof too, stood in a river for a few minutes and stayed bone dry :D

Altbergs

Very comfortable. Very warm. Filled with water with leathers tucked in during thunderstorm (set out in sunshine that day). Just POT UGLY.

Can't remember if I acquired them from here or fleabay.

Sidi evo black rains iirc under your budget and totally dry you might need a size or two larger than normal as they seem to be made for Rossi types :thumb

+1 TCX Infinitys... no problems so far and surprisingly comfortable.

Plus a couple of pairs of power ranger boots that don't get out much these days

:hide

I'm breaking these in for my old age.

velcro closures thermo insulated, I've even started to wear white socks :thumb2

adventure slippers the way forward....in my opinion.... I might wear'em to the shops in the summer.....:D
