What did I do wrong?

No mirror use, no indication etc.

- and you fell off as Doris so subtly put it.

;)

And I'd have fallen off too.

You leant the bike to turn instead of keeping it straight upright and turning with the bars.

Looks to me like to you leaned too much as if you were on tarmac and the front wheel washed out from under you.
I would have kept the bike more upright counter weighting if necessary to put some weight on the outside of the peg.

If you have the bike leant over like that on gravel then you need to weight the outside peg more.

Why does the BMW Challenge thing use the GS?, shouldn't they be using the GSA for this sort of riding as most of it is off road?

..........why do you think a heavier GSA would be any better off road than a GS - the tiny bit of extra suspension travel makes little difference ;)

I would choose the lighter bike for 'adventure' riding, I guess the GSA is more about show than go ;)

Looks like too much lean at the front, but the back end broke away on power also? Mostly the front though, loose surface like that would need to be less angle. Maybe getting a bit too confident..

You were on a GS and not an 1190R .... :thumb2
