What does the SOS & Teleservices function do, is it worth £305

Total waste of good money AFAIC. Just another thing to go wrong, and i refused a new bike sitting in the showroom because it has this fitted. Had to wait three weeks for another bike without it arrived, but hey ho, i can fill the tank a fair few times with £305.:D:D

As someone who often rides alone I can see the advantage, but each to their own.

My take on it is if i break down i have my phone. If im in a hedge, then what are the chances of me reaching the button to activate it, i dont know. Even if its supposed to activate itself when an accident occurs, how do you know ?

You know because it's the same system used on BMW cars which does work, also if you google there are plenty of riders who have posted videos/reviews where they have come a cropper and the system worked. You don't reach for the button to activate it if you have come off, you can reach for the button if you break down and then need assistance. Its like all safety options, its personal choice, I was on the fence until I saw a review of a bloke who fell off in Europe on his own and ended up in a storm ditch. The emergency services were on the scene as he was crawling out of the ditch from under his bike. So for £300 for ever is a small price.

seams a little silly to me to
A) Have an opinion on something clearly you dont have much knowledge about.
B) To reject a system (that can save life) that you know little about.
But each to their own eh !

I bet you’ve spent 3 or 4 times that on unnecessary tat for your bike, but this could potentially save your life. :blast

Ill judge your decisions, if you post your (silly) decisions on here:blast

No just because you think its ill judged doesnt make it so. As for being silly, i think you need to go take a long look in a mirror then give yourself a fucking slap because you are an idiot, now fuck off.

Calm down dear:blast

You are quite right, just because I believe it is ill judged, doesn't make it so. But it is :D

Nice choice of vocabulary Delboy :thumb

I have it on my GS. I didn't order it as the dealer sourced the bike from existing UK stock to get a quick sale so I didn't pay for mine but I'm glad I've got it as I ride mostly by myself and can put up with the occasional message on the TFT when there's no signal.

Cheaper option for tight wads amongst us.

Download the app for your phone and it gives u a very accurate location that emergency services are starting to use. Of course your phone needs to be in your pocket and you need a signal if you are not ton the bike but better than nothing especially as its free. You can also send your location to your phone address book where the recipient opens in google maps, ideal for breakdown in another country etc...

Every 3m square is defined by 3 words which you can verbally share or send in a message

I have it on my 1250gsa and a few weeks ago some African woman clattered me in Manchester....when I got up I could hear someone saying ..hello...hello.... took a couple of minutes to realise it was the sos on my bike...when I answered he asked if I was ok and said he had police and ambulance on the way....luckily I didn’t need them but at least I know it works.......well worth it..

Heaven forbid. But imagine coming off a road, alone and no one see you. Unconscious,
It happens.
It's a great system. Inconspicuous. Until its required.

I'm sure the Police and Ambulance service absolutely love that scenario.....

Haha, well you have a good point.

Would I have turned down SOS on the bike.... no. For road use, I would have it fitted. It could save vital minutes.

Off-road, no chance. It'd be activated every single rideout, so useless.

Off-road use I've got the Garmin Inreach Explorer Plus device which has to be activated manually. But I don't ride alone for the reasons of high risk.

Was super efficient....when I scraped myself off the black stuff and fired seven rounds into the car “I didn’t see you” driver I looked behind me and there was an ambulance...ha...was following me and got the lot cctv......well worth the investment tho..minutes saves lives..

Im sure after a few solid months of this constant call outs the emrgency services may well get fed up with the drain on their resources and may start charging for call outs.
