Andy (Grimmy) and I had originally hoped to join Timpo trail riding on Saturday, but my list of things that I needed to do outweighed what I wanted to do, so all day out on the bikes wasn't possible. Andy was also a little unsure of how his shoulder would hold up after his recent operation, and his KTM still hadn't had a proper run since he got it. Having worked out that I could be free by one o'clock, we decide that a couple of hours at "The Farm" would be the best plan. This would also give Denise a chance to have her first off-road ride, which I had been promising for weeks.
Andy and I got there about an hour before Denise, which gave us chance to suss out where would be the best place to take her. The MX track had been re-graded and was in good condition, but was fairly busy and some of the ruts may have been a bit too much for a first time. The enduro loop was suprisingly dry though so we opted for that as the best.
Having thrown a few good laps in on the MX track while Denise was being kitted out, Andy and I were nicely warmed up, although he had found some of the deeper dirt to be hard on his shoulder. Tony, who runs the circuit, had sorted a TTR 125 with small wheels for Denise to ride. Yes, it is basically a kids bike, but a low seat and forgiving power were more suited for a debut than some of the other bikes he has available.

And so we spent a couple of hours riding round the loop, one in front and one behind, as Denise discovered the joys of mud, ruts, trees and field margins. Considering that her total actual riding time has been two CBT sessions prior to this, she did bloody well. A couple of minor spills, but we all do that, don't we :augie

Do you think she enjoyed it?
