3 years ? Do only ride when the sun is shining and there's a "s" in the day of the week?
You could be forgiven for thinking so! One of a few and they all go out in turn.

Has you have probable guessed from the title of the thread i’m looking for a new set of tyres for my R1200gs 2011. After a lot of research on this web site & others i can not find a definite answer, the more i research the more confused i become. At the moment the bike is running Metzler Tourance. I’m after a 100% road tyre because i will never be riding on any other surface than tarmac. I ride in a progressive manner in wet & dry conditions and try to avoid has many motorways & duel carriageways has possible.
I have narrowed my choice to 3 brands;
Michelin Pilot Road 4 Trail (Tyre dealer tells me that they are the best wet weather tyre on the market, his opinion)
Dunlop RoadSmart II
Continental RoadAttack 2 EVO
What do you guys think i should go for, What your tyre of choice?
Cheers
Phil

PR4 Trails until someone invents something even better, sufficient grip to ride without chicken strips.
Just back from a 1200 mile jolly on a brand new pair of TKC 70,
Very impressed!
Every bit as good as the trail attack.
Excellent grip wet or dry,recommended!
They are good Matt, but I think it's fair to say so are the Dunlop's & Conti's. The days of crap (mainstream) tyres are long gone. I've got PR4's on my GSA but too soon to say, mileage wise.Well timed thread for me.
I'm about to change the EXP's that my 2012 TC came from the factory with. I bought the bike with 4k on it and a pretty well squared off rear, now with 5.5k on it including a jaunt round Scotland (a lot of motorway getting to and from), the rear is shot.
I had intended to just put a pair of standard Tourances on it (as I have on all my GS'es) but I keep hearing bad things about the new Chinese ones so it might be time for a change. All my riding is road based (perhaps the odd gravely track when I have to!) with a fair bit of it loaded and / or two up.
Seems from this thread that PR4 Trails have a good name - I assume they're as good two up and loaded? What sort of life are people getting from them?
Cheers (and sorry for the hijack!)

Have you had them off the tarmac yet ??
