I am looking at GS that has had RS wheels fitted, does this make a difference?

The dealer claims it improves handling, they do not have the orginal rims.

Does it make any difference, will it effect the speedo?

Also how much would a set of orginal rims cost second hand, if I wanted them with some off road tyres, for the loose stuff!

steers a lot quicker, better to use170 not 180 on the back, use rs/rt/r speedo drive and no problem.Brakes a bit better too

there's been talk about improved handling with 'road' wheels.. not sure about the RS rims though. usual choice seems to be rims from the 'S' varient.
Biggest plus is the larger choice of tyres.
The speedo may be wrong... you would do best speaking to the chaps at motorbins for a definitive answer as RS rims aren't the rims usually chosen for this bike.. cant see why though. possibly due to aesthetics.

spoked rims can be picked up for £100 +/- each. I guess the earlier non coated rims will be cheaper than the later anodised.

Type 'alloy conversion' into the search ....

Throws up all sorts including a thread I started back in 2003....;)
