seems to be a number of toolboxes available.

I have a 2014 GS with Zega Evo panniers and the only one I see listed for these frames is the Touratech.

Does anyone have any other type fitted to the evo frames that they would recommend ?

Need to fit an airman pump and puncture repair kit in.

The Givi box pictured looks reasonable. There are also Chinese copies of the Touratech.

Are the BMW standard frame dimensions much different from the zega frames, I dont mind a bit of fabrication to make a box fit.

I have the Touratech one, as I am a total tart!
I had to experiment quite a bit with tool rolls, before I found one that took the tools I want to take with the bike, and fitted through the aperture of the lid. I eventually settled on a small Kriega one. Any bigger stuff for a longer ride, I keep in my top box or tail pack. No idea what size a pump is, so can’t comment if that would fit in too.
Cheers
Dave

I’ve got the Touratwat toolbox and the tool bag they make that fits perfectly inside there. I have to say it’s actually quite good, and the combination of the bag with the box is neat. Only used in anger a couple of times for roadside punctures and to help out other people from time to time on the road, but glad I’ve got it.

You will struggle to get an air man pump through the aperture of the toolbox, I use a Rocky Creek motopressor and that’s much smaller but it fits inside the tool bag and can be wedged in

"Man pumps"? "Creeks"? Stuff being "wedged in"??!! What kind of thread have I stumbled upon here!!!

This maybe a usless bit of info, but I'm going to share it anyway.

Bought a Touratech box off a fellow inmate here some months ago thinking I was about to inherit a set of OE BMW GSA racks for my LC.....didn't happen. My TE came with Vario panniers which I sold as I hate side opening boxes. Through this site I picked up a set of SW Motech black racks and panniers.... guess what the toolbox brackets are no good. Into Mc Giver mode and fabricated a pair of brackets out of a little spare Stainless steel sheet. SW Motech panniers rails are oval not round like the Touratech/BMW ones.
Also, Cymarc make a bracket kit to fit the Touratech toolbox to mount it without pannier racks fitted. Its a good value sturdy bit of kit too but again won't fit when your using the SW Motech snapoff pannier mounting brackets.
Hopefully the above will save another inmate the fustration/expense of finding all this out for themselves.

PS.... Anyone want to buy a Cymarc toolbox fitting kit for a 2013LC GS or Touratech toolbox mounting bracket kit......I know,I know, wrong section...but ye get the idea!

I reckon imho that Mark’s aka Cymarc is the only toolbox you will get an airman into because the toolbox opens sideways, out into the pannier space so to speak. You have to remove the pannier to open it, but again it is a quality item.

I used to have an Airman and have it to a mate and went for the motopressor. I’ve also removed the plastic from a couple of car compressors, the ones supplied instead of a spare wheel, and they are tiny once all the plastic is stripped away.

The Airman is good, but a bit bulky for the toolbox, unless you look at cymarc.

came across DS motorcycle guards in spain

looks well made
lists touratech pannier kit
shows an airman pump (or sell you one cheap for €15)
can be plain

going to order one unless someone says I'm wrong

I cant believe you had a thread about squeezing an Airman into a confined space Fluff, and didn't give your Lightning Tail Gunner mate a nudge!! :D :D :D
