Have bought a givi screen for my 2005gs. However I'm having great difficulty in getting the old screen off. The two "bolts" at the sides used in raising and lowering the screen are the culprits. They easily screw out so far and then stop. I have put socket on the nuts at the back and exerted considerable pressure on the unlocking wheel with pipe grips to no avail. What am I doing wrong??

the dome nut on the inside is to stop the adjusters falling out if they come lose

you have to undo them they shouldn't be very tight... are you turning the right way ?

I'm guessing here, but I reckon it's just heavily corroded threads. Are you able to screw them back in and get a look somehow?

Screen fitted now. Threads were bit corroded. Good spray of oil overnight sorted it. Thanks for advice. 🙂🙂

fwiw if there is rust or corrosion in threads then working nut/bolt back and forth can clear the threads of debris. And liberal lube helps

I`ve recently done mine on a 2008 GSA, they were seized solid with rust, cleaned the threads with a soft wire brush then ran a tap and copper slip down them and working like new now.
