worn paint

Go and have a look at a Honda VFR 1200 that has done a few miles (yup some of 'em do)..... off side heel guard etc, wears badly. Bods seem to stick protectors on them....Which is a neat irony: Protectors to protect the guards. It's spreading, it seems.

i understand what you are saying about guards and the likes, my bikes is also acf50'd , the only thing i can't get my head around is how you blokes seem to find it acceptable.

when the paint has been done i will definately put some protection on it so it doesn't happen again.

it's just that when i bought the bike i must have missed the section in the hand book that tells you to put bits of tape every where in case i might come into contact with it :blast

now your getting interesting,do tell,:D

no m8, not my way of doing things, but he makes me look like an amateur in the complaining stakes.

and as for my problem you may all think what a petty moaning twat , again not me i just like things right, not too much to ask i don't think

Same as me then, yet my frame paint is still intact :thumb2

Stuffs that line of enquiry then :D

But, whoa, wait a moment....

I have Daytona Gortex boots and used to have HG trousers.... and my paint wore..... Maybe there is something in it after all..... Carry on, constable, though you can perhaps exclude the boots (his are Dainese) but the trousers....... a deep well of uncertainty looms, rich in possibility.....

Go back and complain, it may do you any good but if your dealer's any good they should help.

Have to say if you bought your bike from Benhams in W'ton i had bad experiences with them , hope you do better.

Tell us more..... It will distract Nice'n'Fat from his somewhat worrying enquiry into what another bloke is wearing.... blokes get arrested for calls like that....

yep i'm afraid wasn't too impressed with them when it went in for it's 600 mile service and i asked them to change the display from bar-psi , and thay charged me £8 for the priveledge even though it was already plugged into the computer

You may have something here. I've got Daytona boots and HG trousers and my paint wore in the EXACT same place:eek: Something is definately afoot here......

Luckliy, I found my way to Halfrauds and got some black Hammerite paint before I managed to write to the CEO's of BuMW, HG and Daytona:thumb

i just don't get it,

i know the wheels arn't going to fall off or the engine destroy itself because of a bit of paint on the frame wearing away

i just don't get how you see it as not a problem and just ignore it after all it's only a bit of paint and someone will sell you a guard you can put over it and why didn't i realise that in the first place all i had to do is buy every bit of bolt on crap and that will cure it.

so surely if you went and bought a car and the paint started to wear off the sill where your leg rubbed on it every time you got in it would be ok, or as rob farmer suggests just put some smoothrite on it, or if you looked hard enough you could probobly find a cover to bolt onto it .

maybe it's me and i'm expecting too much from a brand new product , hopefully i never have anything fail but if i do i'm sure i can find something to bolt onto it to cure it , or it's all part of the experience of owning a bmw

Bit of duct tape will solve it:augie
