Go and have a look at a Honda VFR 1200 that has done a few miles (yup some of 'em do)..... off side heel guard etc, wears badly. Bods seem to stick protectors on them....Which is a neat irony: Protectors to protect the guards. It's spreading, it seems.

Go back and complain, it may do you any good but if your dealer's any good they should help.

But, whoa, wait a moment....
I have Daytona Gortex boots and used to have HG trousers.... and my paint wore..... ..
i just don't get it,
i know the wheels arn't going to fall off or the engine destroy itself because of a bit of paint on the frame wearing away
i just don't get how you see it as not a problem and just ignore it after all it's only a bit of paint and someone will sell you a guard you can put over it and why didn't i realise that in the first place all i had to do is buy every bit of bolt on crap and that will cure it.
so surely if you went and bought a car and the paint started to wear off the sill where your leg rubbed on it every time you got in it would be ok, or as rob farmer suggests just put some smoothrite on it, or if you looked hard enough you could probobly find a cover to bolt onto it .
maybe it's me and i'm expecting too much from a brand new product , hopefully i never have anything fail but if i do i'm sure i can find something to bolt onto it to cure it , or it's all part of the experience of owning a bmw
