worn paint

aint gone nowhere, don't scare off that easy, can do without having my name plastered everywhere

Should have asked Benhams not to display it then and you to post it all over the web:blast:D

I'd have been non too pleased if a BMW dealer had plastered that all over my forthcoming new bike :(

somebody will be along with an opinion shortly, you know what they say opinions are like arse holes , every ones got one, and there seems to be quite a few on here

Opinions, we certainly have them here

We are very proud to have opinions on UKGSER - some good, some bad, some controversial......................it's what makes this place, what it is and has done since 2002:thumb

opinions are more than welcome and valued that's what makes places like this thrive and why i joined and paid my money, it's just when it gets stupid i can't see the point in it :blast

Top tip for problems with paint rubbing off with your legs -stop wearing those S&M boots!!:ymca

The 1150 left shiny marks on my boots and that was as bad as it got. On the HP2 the paint wore off in a few weeks also on my last 1200 so I put some black duct tape over the scuffs, I meant to do the same with this one but forgot all about it and noticed it has worn through on both sides however it never seems to go rusty, probably because I ride it most days so I am not too bothered.

It is only a motorbike after all and they are designed to be used :thumb2

2007 R1200,,,,,, 44,000 miles,,,,,,,, must put my feet in a different position to you lot!
Ride safe, big foot
Twinkle-toes.

Good point, I tend to ride with my toes on the pegs most of the time which could contribute to the worn paint :nenau

Me I am lucky my frame did the same after about 150 miles, bike was duly returned, dealer stripped out the frame which was then treated to a wonderful application of two pack paint. Have lovely deep rich black frame which has now lasted 4yrs and has never worn throu.

One draw back is it makes the black? wheels look shit LOL.

I'm here, right on Q, just as requested Sir :thumb

Done 51,500 miles on my F800GS in two and a half years, and d'ya know what, the feckin' paint has rubbed off the frame where mi boots and leathers rub

It aint got no worse, it aint got no bigger and it aint gone rusty, still lovely and shiny, we called it 'patina' in the old days :comfort

D'ya know why it aint got worse, why it aint got bigger and why it aint gone rusty?

Cos I ride the feckin' thing and don't sit at a keyboard whinging :kissy2

:beerjug:

what is the problem with you people, i've come on here with a problem you may see it as trivial and boring and you've heard it all before but to me it's a problem , not the end of the world and it will get sorted i have no doubt.

the thing that pisses me is the fact that places like this need new members that's the whole point of forums , expand get bigger share experiences . why then would anyone want to stick around (and i know all i'll get now is bye bye)
when you get grief .

i've seen it before on other forums before , you get the locals who see it as there play ground , noobies are fair game , me i couldn't give a **** either way i've got thicker skin than that.

as for ride it more , only wish i could , some of us have to work long and hard to pay for these things

Big forum syndrome. I must admit some absolute twats seem to have started frequenting this place over the last couple of years, just don’t rise to them :comfort

Well I'll go for that, but I did work long and hard for some 48 years and right now I'd rather be riding than whinging ...

As you get older your priorities change, a little bit o' paint matters feck all in the real scheme of things ... but I wouldn't have a feckin 1200 anyway ;)

Yes ... I did have one, it was a great 'bike :thumb
