The owner didn't care for the colour of his matte gray V85TT so had a body shop add the black stripe on the tank, paint the front of the tank, side covers, and front mudguard, green, then sprayed it all with a gloss clear coat. He said Enzo (the owner of Cadre Cycles) liked the look so well he took a picture and sent it to Moto Guzzi telling them "this is a colour you should offer on this bike." This was before there were any spy photos of the new V100 Mandello, which came out over a year later with a
very similar paint scheme. He believes it was more than a coincidence.
