X ADV 750

Yep, I was surprised it didn’t hit the spot too..your feedback was one of the reasons I tried it. Maybe it deserves another go.
My last scoot was a Gilera 180SP, now that was fun
Ha ha . I had one of those . Back wheel would spin up under full acceleration

I really liked my ADV350 but hated the colour but was the only one for sale when I bought it my little GTS300 with the 13" wheel conversion is very good and on a measured road its exactly the same speed as the ADV350 which surprised me, I thought the ADV would have been quicker, but no they both hit 80 at exactly the same point, the ADV350 is more stable though the vespa is very light, rode the 750 to work yesterday and again today playing with the shift points and it still shifts either too early or too late maybe its me thinking that I can do better !!
I will have to get used to it, its not bad but as I say I think I can shift better, nice and lively though even running in you can feel its got the beans ready to be released
it maybe I bought new E2 new jacket, boots and gloves at the bike show so all that needs running in as does the bike !!

Mate has just ordered one in mud grey IMG_2854.jpeg

But it’s really not his thing . It’ll be for sale by June/July, hopefully with 600 miles and first service done . It’s about £9400 new here so I’m thinking £7500 ish .
I’ve told him to give me first dibs 😜

Borrowed my mates new X-ADV for a few hours .
It’s fabulous !

Five stage heated grips get really hot . Nice TFT dash. Pegs for off-roading. Cruise, self-cancelling indicators.
Seems much more spacious than earlier model . Sounds great with SC Project can . DCT very smooth . Lovely suspension and handling .

In Sport and manual , it blips the throttle on downshifts like my ATAS DCT did.

My helmet matches too

You can see the designers of the ADV-350 and X-ADV either copied each other, or are the same team.
Weird, isn’t it !
You have thought that two ADV models from the same manufacturer and same design team would look totally different. 😜

Of late I have found myself drawn to looking at the Forza 750 as a second bike. Have you ridden one of them Martin? Same engine I read, but the Forza seems a bit more touring orientated than the ADV. I'd be interested in your thoughts.

These appear to hold their secondhand value extremely well - esp post 21 when fly by wire = cruise!

No not ridden the Forza but it’s a great motor and very smooth

Aidan - get a test run on an NC750x - I've just bought one about three weeks back - as a 2nd bike. Starting to really like it after about 1500 miles - lots of torque, 80 odd mpg , and a handy compartment to store the bread and milk when out shopping !!

I tested a Forza 750 on Monday. I’m interested in the X-ADV750 but as was mentioned previously there aren’t any demos at dealers. This one was a 24my they’d taken in & as it’s the same engine/box they thought I might get a feel for it. Plenty of poke but the box at slow speeds was a pain. I also thought the Forza was a bit bland atheistically & putting your feet down when stopped was uncomfortable as the footplate was quite wide for me. The underseat storage is poor compared to the ADV350 so I’ll be ordering a new ADV350 when the time comes.

Surprised about box as on ADV it’s buttery smooth at all speeds.
That’s a slight chance I may have my own soon . Find out later

Thanks for that @Pip5ter I don't know if there are any test bikes available over here, must check it out. I read that the dct on the 25 is much improved over the earlier models. Your comments on comfort and storage are interesting. :thumb2

The X-ADV is mine .

Done a swap with mate for my XSR900GP.
Two weeks old and 60 miles in clock, which I’ve doubled giving it a try.

It’s bloody ace .

It is matching your helmet (almost) you vainglorious … 🤣 not least as I can see it aesthetically working really well on ADV. have fun!

I can see you not hesitating to book a boat back out to Saint-Malo then beeline for Castellane.

GP was nice, shame it kept highlighting your nerve issue.
