A few days ago, I had the beak resprayed (scratches on tip) at the local car bodyshop and thought that I'd have these forkguards done too, to match the colour of the rest of the bike

Just mocked them up for now, before I make up some spacers for the mudguard mounts

So what does everyone think......................1100GS with or without forkguards - Yes or No?

They are BMW items from another R1100 model, just colour matched to this bike

No, unnecessary clutter, if you leave the forks totally unprotected you will have trouble in about 300,000 miles (If you ride around a stony MX track following somebody too close)

Johnny, if they protect the finish off your lower forks from stone chips and corrosion then you go for it mate It's your bike and it adds an extra touch of individuality - at the end of the day you don't need approval from anybody but yourself

personally i think they are a good idea don't know how long they would last off road though mibys if they were done in silver to match the fork legs they might not stick out so much

I would Quite like them. Would also benefit with some clear indicator lenses! Go for it!

My opinion...FWIW....I don't like them...They sort of drag your eyes straight to them. It's a very nice 'bike, and I think that they spoil it.

Saw them years ago on a Marrakesh Red 1100GS and they looked cool

Think Paul Young had some on his bike

Potential Stonechips...............................easily sorted with some 3M Clear Film, before they go into general use
